Jeep fever does wear off. They will bounce the roids and kidneys right out of you. The Safari edition does look a little military.

Funny how people on your side of the pond like Jeeps, and those on this side like Defenders.

porsche4life 04-25-2012 04:07 PM

I know plenty on this side that like jeeps......

We had a jeep for a few years... Was great in the mtns, sucked for a DD though....

Ouch. That hurts.

Agreed. He does rock. Never mentioned Ted or the Amboy Dukes in the class, but it sounds like he wants to hear a report that sounds different. I will put that one into consideration as well. Thanks. :)

Yes, I know a lot of offroaders live up in Ojai. Jeeps are popular. Like the ones that look WW2 surplus.

Flieger 04-25-2012 04:18 PM

Actually, Ojai is "down" from me most of the time. It is "up" in Thousand Oaks. I spend so much time up in SLO that I really should start calling it home.

Flieger 04-25-2012 04:21 PM

I don't want to post this reply in that thread amongst Joe Bob and the others, but since Jim posts here too I will put it here.

So Jim, what is this I hear about pink cars not being allowed? Need I remind you that Regan drives a pink car? ;)

The WWII Surplus jeeps are miserable..... Slow...... Most of them have been welded back together.....

slodave 04-25-2012 04:27 PM

Flight aborted early. Weather moved in, found a couple of micro-bursts and decided to call it an afternoon.

Yeah, but for around that town it is fine. The guy I know has a son younger than me that drives one out on the trail. Not modded much. A month or so ago his car somehow ended up completely submerged in a lake. They found out a jeep full of water weighs a hell of a lot when your wheelin' buddy is trying to pull you out with his Ford Ranger.

porsche4life 04-25-2012 04:33 PM

If they'd both get real 4WDs this wouldn't be an issue.... A ranger ain't a pullin truck

Well that takes some pressure off me then. Oh, I mean too bad you couldn't fly. But you made the wise choice. Don't want to end up in the "Aftermath" section of Flying Magazine. :D

The ranger is setup pre-runner style. But hey, they got it out. That's all that matters. :D And their girlfriends had a good time apparently as they are still around.

Max, today has nothing really todo with the test. :) I just need to get comfortable flying to different airports, so I can do my cross-country solo stuff. I did get my endorsement for my written and shifting schedules a bit, am aiming for Monday.

Flieger 04-25-2012 04:45 PM

There was snow in the mountains after the storm a couple weeks ago. Here's a part of his adventures on the dirt bike:

Snow comes towards the end when he gets up into the higher elevations.

Entertain me fellas... Sitting around tonight waiting for a trauma...

tweezers74 04-25-2012 05:50 PM

Wow... You guys are heck of a lot of fun... :D

recycled sixtie 04-25-2012 06:00 PM

Tweeze get them to talk about guns, targets etc. That might lure them out of their men caves. :)You have got to bait the hook with the right bait.
