You're right. I did not give an excuse and you did not accuse me of it.

I do have a bedroom to myself and pretty much a bathroom to myself. I rarely see my roommates. So the benefits of living on campus (short bike ride to/from class, no need to drive the car there) outweigh the drawbacks for the most part.

I am still thinking about how funny that guy's reaction was today in controls. My lab partner later said that the guy is a big nerd, but I guess my lab partner does not know that I am most likely an even bigger one. My lab partner did some of WoW when he was not at basketball practice and he said a lot of it was pretty lame games. So I am glad I did not waste my money on that. I prefer to do my exploring around SLO now as a senior. I guess I might have become more comfortable earlier if I had done that as a freshman but whatever. Can't change that now.

It is just funny how me not going to that silly, optional program from 4 years ago blew his mind and provoked such a strong reaction.

One of the first dates I got after I moved to Oklahoma was a real genuine dumb Blond. I was new to town and 24 years old and did not know anyone except some co-workers that were all married. I don't even remember how I met up with this chick. I am pretty sure she was the dumbest broad I ever dated. I was not looking for a conversation or a long term relationship.

I went to her apartment to pick her up. She wanted to show me around her tiny apartment. We walked into her bedroom and coming from upstairs was some loud squeaky bedsprings and moaning. She did not hesitate to say "I don't know what they are doing up there but they do it all the time."

I did not read the article. It was a nice enough place when I was there. Except for the Kamikaze deer population it seemed like a nice place.

While I agree that it is a great place to live I find it funny how it seems highly subjective. The writer has traveled and done some surveys but still it does not seem like there is much objectivity.

ok, i posted this in the 944 section and excuse me for being an idiot: can a loose oil filler cap cause low vacuum? i am thinking that the low vacuum coincides exactly with the last time i topped off the oil.... of course, i now have the entire intake manifold off and i have found a few (like six or seven!) small vacuum leaks.

I know my 911 stumbles if you take the filler cap off while its running. Not much help.

actually, that probably answers my question. hell's bells.

one of the largest vacuum lines coming off of the turbo inlet pipe goes right to the air/oil separator. my thinking is that a loose filler cap would, therefore, create a pretty good vacuum leak into the block.

or just applaud and cheer when they're done rooting.

When I lived in Darwin, I was at a bbq at a mates house, my mates neighbor was rooting his missus on the kitchen table while we were all milled in his back yard.
We all got to see the lot, because the houses up there are raised on stilts and all the windows of the houses are louvers (with the louvers pitched in the right direction, there's no privacy at all).
When they were done at it, we all applauded and cheered. Funny, never saw his missus again.

that is good stuff, jeff.

so i lost one of the banjo bolts to the intake manifold down into the rat's nest, after getting the intake manifold back on. fkn hell. so, i get in the car and hit five parts stores, including a motorcycle shop. apparently, M8 x 1mm banjo bolts are unobtainium. so, i come back home home, tie a very strong nylon string through the hole of the other banjo bolt, stick a magnet to it and fish it down into the area i believe that the first one went. i'll be damned if i didn't get them both out on the first try! if i'd done that in the first place, i'd be done with this project, or at least firing up the car to see if it is fixed.....

One of my biggest fears happened today.
While loading a crane car body one of the hydraulic hoses blew.
The car body weighs 69,000Lbs. and the upper works weighs 87,000Lbs.
They lower the whole thing onto the trailer until you've got the weight of the car body then they slide 4 pins out and raise the upper works so you can drive out from under it with just the car body. As they were lowering it the main supply hose blew.
Don't know how much of the 156,000 ended up on my trailer but i thought it was going to break
After they fixed the hose i had them lift the whole thing off so i could see what my trailer looked like. Luckily it sprung back into shape.

this gauge measures the air pressure in the air bags on the trailer.
The highest i've ever seen it before this was 88 psi which equals 62120Lbs.
Pegged i don't even want to know
