Good thing you shied away from medicine. The perks are slim. Maybe all the apple juice, graham crackers and ginger ale you can handle. That's about it. Once in awhile you'll find an Ensure leftover from someone's dinner tray.

I'm glad to hear it Sid, nice going

New Orleans rep is promising me a few good dinners when I get down there too.....

Hey, I am in healthcare and I get perks. Granted I am not bedside anymore. The perks back then were more personal fulfillment... But I guess that can get old. I think the one time I felt fulfilled and didn't give a crap about how much I was getting paid and could honestly say that I loved my job and felt like I woke up with a definite purpose was hospice nursing. Plan to go back to it after I make enough money for my boys' college fund and Porsche fund. :D

Mrs Carrera wanted to go to a local sporting goods store to buy a t-shirt with the OKC Thunder logo and the western league champions logo. The store was packed. Hundreds of people buying shirts. The clerk said the store opened at midnight the night we won, and there was a long line of people waiting to buy a shirt.

That's because you're on the business side of medicine. The side that operates (for better or worse) closer to what it's like in the rest of the world. You're no longer on the ivory-tower world of patient care.

Okay, I tried the "get a chick" method while rollerblading tonight. Didn't work. I got hit by a car and all she says is "sorry".

More specifically, I hit her car. She pulled out in front of me and then just stops.

Porsche-poor 06-08-2012 08:46 PM

well try harder next time.

or NOT!!!

tweezers74 06-08-2012 09:13 PM

Well, that's just rude! I don't think chicks around here would act like that. I would have FREAKED OUT! I would have made sure you were ok. Wow. California...

Back inside..... Hung out on the patio and had a little cookout with a few coworkers... Then drank a few Sam Adams cherry wheat brews and watched the cubs game....

Sidney, your internship sounds rough...

So, what should I wear to my High school reunion? Don't want to look like I tried too hard but want to look good. ;)

Porsche-poor 06-08-2012 09:37 PM

jeans and t-shirt

slodave 06-08-2012 09:42 PM

I went with jeans, button down shirt, sleeves rolled up, belt (that's rare!), and boots.

tweezers74 06-08-2012 09:43 PM

it is going to be at a resort in Scottsdale. Jeans and a t-shirt would be slightly underdressed. I think I know what I am going to wear... a short sleeved dress with heels. Done. That was easy.

tweezers74 06-08-2012 09:44 PM

See, guys can get away with that. A nice shirt with jeans can be dressed up for a guy. Girls, not so much.

tweezers74 06-08-2012 09:45 PM

Did you have fun at yours, Dave?

slodave 06-08-2012 09:48 PM

Oh yeah! It was huge!!!! All 5 of us. :D

It was at a classmates house, nothing fancy. It was nice to see them again. One did not graduate with us, in fact left after 8th, but she was invited anyway. one was my ex-business partner - we did not part ways with smiles, but we put that aside for the night.

Porsche-poor 06-08-2012 09:54 PM

I hated my 25th and will probably skip the rest. I wore a polo and shorts. It was way to hot to drewss nice.

tweezers74 06-08-2012 09:55 PM

My graduating class had 830 something people... I am thinking at least 100 of us show up? They asked us to fill out a bio sheet. Mine said, "if you want to find out about me, talk to me at the reunion". I hate filling stuff like that out. If you want to know me, then get to know me. :)

Porsche-poor 06-08-2012 09:56 PM

Good plan
