Distributors are pretty simple now days. I rebuilt the calipers on my 911 a couple of years ago. That was way easier than I expected.

Uh oh. That sounds like a slippery slope. Then you'll be cruising Craigslist and Garage Journal (as well as the Harbor Freight ads) looking for a MIG/TIG welder for your garage, and then wondering if your garage is wired stoutly enough to handle it. Then, while you ponder upgrading your home/garage electrical panel, you'll want to make sure there's enough juice to handle the 2- or 4- post lift you'll want, where to place the air compressor, and how much overhead shop lighting is necessary to wrench indoors at night. Plus you'll have to decide if you want an epoxy floor or if that plastic Race Deck tiling is sufficient.

I rode my bike out to Morro Bay this morning. I took Turri Road for the first time, which winds its way around and over the rolling hills that skirt the rocky peaks. It ends up at the estuary. There is a nice ocean view when you crest the hill and a nice ocean breeze as well. The road is nice and curvy but not as high or steep as Prefumo Canyon. The road is cleaner and wider, though. So the total experience is just as nice, if not as great a workout. Hiking around all over Bishop Peak on Thursday was nice and pretty but I really prefer riding. That last bit of Highland Drive that goes up Bishop Peak is quite steep and twisty, though.

I really love it up here in San Luis Obispo but I think down in Thousand Oaks there are better driving roads in the Santa Monica Mountains. They would be great to cycle on if there were not so many fast cars and motorcycles there. Which leaves pretty much just the week days.

Get a angle grinder. You can make any weld look fantastic with an angle grinder and some gal paint

Teached 4 peoples how to drive faster this morning.

Took a parade lap through tomorrows autocross course. Glen may have been better off leaving his old tires on for one more autocross (to have some bit fun). There is a 1 cone 180 and a figure 8 around about 20ft radius turns. I practiced doing a few eBrake 180's.

Had an onion burger with the guys that took my class.

Came home and took a short nap.

Watched Canadian Grand Prix qualifying.

Going out and doing some tuning on the 928. More fuel means more aggressive timing.

I really wanted to burn up the old tires but I will be in 1,200 miles from here in Salt Lake City one month from now. I wanted to get the new tires mounted and I wanted to scrub them in before driving on green tires. Tomorrow will be fun.

Whew, I had a long day and I did not even get my to do list completed.

The Elky club meeting was fun as normal. I got home, edged and mowed the yard and got everything cleaned up and put away. I started on the oil change for the Elky and got the oil draining and and looked at the spot on the shelf where I keep the oil filters and that spot was empty!

Dang, I guess the Mission Impossible team or the CIA with the help of aliens from outer space technology broke into my garage and stole my oil filters! Nothing else was missing so I guess those filters were the ones made that were full of diamonds. The sneaky bastages sole them from me!

The only other remote possibility and it is remote, is that I made a mistake or that I was wrong for the first time ever. Nope I can't belive that so it must be a theft! The police will think it is my mistake so I will not call them.

I had to fire up the 911 and go to the parts store. As I pull up to the NAPA warehouse-store they are having a big special event and the tents are up and the parking lot is packed. Forget that, I head to the competition store to get an oil filter. Mission accomplished and back home. Oil change is finished, front end gets lubed and that step is done.

It was then that I realized that the 911 was HOT and it was late in the day before the autocross. I don't feel like changing a starter on a hot 911 so I give up and head in for a shower.

Had a really fun day. Dropped the top and headed out. We ended up in a place called Natural Bridge. One of the seven wonders of the world.

We then found this place called, Yup Foamhenge. The entire thing is made from Styrofoam. It was very cool




We then ended up on the campus of Washington and Lee college in Lexington,
Lee chapel:

His private residence where he died. The huge porch was designed for his wife who was wheel chair bound. It also has an attached corral for his horse Traveler whi is buried right outside of the chapel, right next to the family crypt.
