Heh. My cousin took that. We were bouncing around a bit at that speed.

On the track at Charlotte Motor-speedway I hit 5,000 RPM in 5th in my 911. The engine roar and wind noise was LOUD! I had to run with windows down due to track rules. The hard part was looking at the upcoming curve and hearing the instructor say "what ever you do don't hit the brakes!" was tough. I chickened out every time and lifted but was still in high triple digits on the banked curve. It was a relief to get to stand on the brakes and slow to 60 for the turn into the infield and slide around those corners at more normal speed. Then back up on the banking and run to red-line through 3rd and 4th and stand on it in 5th. 20 minutes of that was exhausting. I can't imagine how the race drivers do that for hours on end in a fast race car.

That is the fastest I have ever driven.

I skipped most of the last two days of last week and still got into OT, so I'd be ok skipping one day a week....

Solid effort! What's your impression of the Z4 after a few days? They look fun....

No doubt I would prefer to work 4 - 10 hour days rather than 5 - 8 hour days. It is just not possible with the small crew we have here.

It's a light week if I get off with 4 10s... I usually do at least 9 a day, at times 13-15 for most of the week....

I wonder why I'm so beat down on friday....

Zed 4 tops out at 250. Since we were driving a "petrol" version, we shifted early to conserve. It's a 3.0 6 speed. It's a convertible, so quite noisey at speed, but you can have a conversation. The beemers are limited to 250, so really not a bad effort. I was going to hit a speed limit right after the pic, so I could not get it faster, plus it was not in sport mode. We will be in the 330d for the next couple days and will have one more chane to hit 250.

Evening Rick. Sid you are on intern hours. To be expected. All of that will be just history soon. I have done the 6 and 7 day work weeks for months at a time. I don't wanna try it again.

155 mph is moving right along. I hit 160+ as a passenger in a 911 RSR at Road Atlanta back in the late 70s. The driver and owner was a super nice guy that also owned a 908. He was an airline pilot. I really thought he was going to kill me and commit suicide when he was still kept the pedal to the metal as we approached a corner. It blew me away how fast a race car can go around a corner. Dave keep having fun. I am very envious of your trip.

In a rare moment, I had to dump half a beer. My body is revolting. Up for a few minutes and then time for bed. Since I am "home", I decided that tomorrow is an off day, late breakfast at my cousins place, then wander around town. Last day will be spent on one more journey to my mother's home town. 5 hour round trip drive.
