Your pictures remind me of the movie I watched last night, Life of Pi.

Oh, and I've never touched the door jamb mounted Hofco, so for all I know it's still hooked up. But unlike J's PO, mine only handed me two keys with the car, so I've never done anything with the alarm, and in return it's never bothered me.

Alerick lets get the vac system tested and fixed, you may also want to bypass the decelerator valve. They can develop an internal leak that won't turn up in a smoke test

I have not really been following your problem, but are you sure your problem is fuel related at all? fuel at the injectors during no-start conditions?

Rick V 02-03-2013 09:01 AM

oh and is your tach still acting up?

Noah930 02-03-2013 09:17 AM

Tach is fine. I swapped out the alternator & voltage regulator at the same time (mainly as I didn't want to do the labor twice, even if I was the one wrenching) which fixed it. I saw voltage spikes at the battery up to 16-18 volts when the tach would go crazy momentarily.

Rick V 02-03-2013 09:55 AM

It was good to talk to you Alerick (sp)
I think we can get you all fixed up. :)

Holy crap, my son and I are looking to buy some bulk ammo in .22 just for plinking, and it is amazing just how expensive the cheap stuff has become. I remember shooting until my finger hurt for eight bucks. holy crap

nynor 02-03-2013 10:49 AM

no luck selling the AR15. the truly paranoid have already spent their money.

Rick V 02-03-2013 10:55 AM

Just as well D, you might need it when the government collapses and the second civil war starts

Porsche-poor 02-03-2013 01:18 PM

Mines dead. Seems I failed to plug the charger back in after a band practice. Palm to face....

Rick V 02-03-2013 01:31 PM

David can you see me laughing with one hand over my mouth and the other one pointing at you?

Was a fairly productive weekend for me.
Saturday I helped clean up my grandparents home now that they have gone into care (all a bit heartbreaking but that's how life goes I guess) and sunday (yesterday) I gave the 911 an oil change, fitted some nolathane gearbox mounts and measured up wheel offset for some new rims I want to order. Also changed spark plugs. Lucky I did, it had 5 platinums and 1 ancient crusted over normal plug. Whoever did the servicing on it before I bought it was clearly lazy and a rip off.

Also finished fitting an LS1 coil and igniter combo to my daily driver mazda. Stupid thing has the igniter, coil and CAS inside the distributor. The coil and igniter fails due to engine heat and oil leaks. Mazda Aus want nearly a grand for an new distributor, second hand and aftermarket locally they are $500, and China $150 jobbies only last a month from what I have been told. So I fitted up this LS1 coil, modified the distributor cap to take a coil lead and wired it all up. Works like a boss and cost $15 for the new cap (from the US of course, where everything is so much cheaper than here).

while i do see the above as a possibility, i wasn't going to be without arms. besides, it is pretty hard to defend oneself with a weapon with no ammunition. not only is it nearly impossible to find ammunition for the AR, i can't find bullets or powder to reload with.

that said, i went to the range and shot some of my reloads from a week or two ago, the 75grain cartridges that don't fit in the magazine. they worked pretty darn good. much better grouping than the remington 55gr FMJ stuff. don't worry, i still have a goodly amount of ammunition that does fit the magazines.

i also plugged away with the .308. i am still liking what that inexpensive marlin bolt action can do.

Absolutely freakin' beautiful today. Perfect t-shirt and shorts weather.

Thanks for the help, Rick. I was working on the car in the driveway. One cat was asleep on a camp chair I put out for him. The dog was sitting in the driveway watching me/us. A woman on a walk came by and I caught her chuckling at us.

GH85Carrera 02-03-2013 02:30 PM

Howdy folks. We we out earlier and drove by a house Mrs. Carrera has always admired. It is just a couple of miles from our house. It is for sale so she looked it up in the Internet. This is a bit out of our price range, it is listed at 3.1 million.!!!

Check out the more info button. It will bring up 20 photos of the place. Wow.
