Joe, where are you off to?

RKDinOKC 02-14-2013 06:58 AM

Friend has a couple of 356s. The both have bigger hopped up motors, and updated brakes. However, he has a stand for each that holds all the original parts that were replaced and the updates were done so the original parts could go back on.

yeah, I have a spare motor for Miss Daisy, that my mech wants to beef up so he can change it out for me to have a bit more power sometimes for fun. I think its more for him than me!!

azzarule 02-14-2013 07:13 AM

probably why he wants me to put the disc brakes on!

Porsche-poor 02-14-2013 08:09 AM

just more things to break so he can fix them.

its not like I pay him or anything! lol He is a really good friend, who I just love to bits, just the best friend ever, he found Miss Daisy languishing in the garage of her former owner, where she had sat for over 30 years. He loved her, but just didn't have the money to buy her, so I did, and he gets to play.

Porsche-poor 02-14-2013 08:45 AM

prefect!!!!!!

RKDinOKC 02-14-2013 10:11 AM

My Porsches are by no means stock. They have all been performance modified at least a little. Last spring a cam broke and crashed all the valves on one bank of cylinders. It would have been the perfect time to either stroker the stock motor or swap in a hybrid. Instead, I just refreshed all the correct bits and went back together with the only change was a little hotter cam set. I also have non-stock wheels as I like the choices of tires for 18 over 17 inch wheels.

I'd like to refresh/lower the suspension, and swap in a pair of Recaro Pole Positions with the multicolored seat inserts, like in the pic, in either shades of blue or grey. RS door panels. Chip the engine, too. :)

It's still only wishful thinking on my part, G. I have a couple of years of home remodeling to finish first.

GH85Carrera 02-14-2013 11:41 AM

Hey G-man, how goes the job? Are you still doing the same thing for a living?

Porsche-poor 02-14-2013 12:19 PM

Porsche-poor 02-14-2013 12:35 PM

LOL! No it was funny. I should just know better than to eat and read at the same time.

I'm just glad no one brought a cake in this year, I'd be in tears.

GH85Carrera 02-14-2013 12:46 PM

Hey 3/14 is a holiday too!

Porsche-poor 02-14-2013 12:58 PM

very true. but she wins on great one liners alone. Then again is not 2/14 the very holiday she is refering to?

Jferr006 02-14-2013 01:10 PM

an glad ta hear the chebby is not an option. I even think it's silly when hot rodders put a chebby motor on a Ford chassis.

Company I work for has a "Show Truck". It a 1948 Ford F1 pickup, the same year the company was founded. They also have a vintage Harley to put in the bed. Say it really brings people into their booth at the trade shows.

Anyway the only thing Ford about the truck is the actual body and hub caps, the suspension is Dodge K car to add disc brakes, the motor and drivetrian are chevy, and even the seats are out of a Camaro. They started with Ford and couldn't get the crate CobraJet running so, swapped the whole drivetrain for an LS1 setup.

Every time the management sees a totally stock F1 they drool all over it because theirs is just a street rod now.

Too bad, this is a '49.
