Damn now I'm pissed.

Found out that they don't make the Azenis in a 205/60/R15, which is what I run on the stock 924S rim.

They make a 205/50/R15, but that is a much smaller tire in diameter. If I was autocrossing only, that would be a good thing. But it won't look or feel correct for the street.

I do have a set of 7" phone dial track wheels to put 235's on but the finish is horrible, they would need repainting. And after lowering the car they would surely rub in the front when steered. Edit: They don't make Azenis in 15 inch in anyting but 205/50/15. So those are out too.

This is tough. After driving other vehicles on that tire I was set on it.

Looks like the only option in the BFG g-Frorce sport.

Schumi I just got a pair of 6 and 7 fuchs that I put on the '87 924S. Idk if you are on facebook ,but i put a pic on my fb. Sid or dave any chance you can put a pic up here while I am at work.

The rear's are 225. They look PHAT!

Schumi 03-01-2010 12:19 PM

Yea, I put my 7" phones on the rears of mine for a while, made the car look proper.

I don't mind the 205's, but I wish it was a 205/60/15 was a common size; it isn't. They really don't make any performance street compound 15 inch tires anymore since most street cars use 16's or larger now. There is still plenty of race rubber options for 15 inch wheels obviously, but that's too expensive to use for the street.

Sid, if you buy one you will never want to sell it. They are nothing but pure fun

slodave 03-01-2010 04:03 PM

Sidney, take the grand and buy your parts. Take the rest of the money and put it in a savings account for now and hopefully the original plans for the money will work out, plus it would be a much better investment over an old BMW.

Okay as much as I hate to see some take sound advice Dave is correct. (that hurt)

Schumi 03-01-2010 04:25 PM

In the middle of a phone interview right now gents. Looks like I may have this one hook line and sinker.

Schumi 03-01-2010 04:27 PM

Lady's cell phone just died while we were talking. Kinda awkward. Said she would have to call back.

oh, man. no wiser words. that car would eat your life. it might be fun, in a punctuated equilibrium sort of way, but you life, in the end, will be devoured.

have i ever told you the story of my '77 triumph bonneville that i converted to a cafe bike? well, i bought it from a guy that wheeled it out of his shed, complete with....

Toyota recalls another million cars!!!

Ok Mr Toyoda, step away from the knife, back up slowly...

slodave 03-01-2010 10:07 PM

Toyota? GM just recalled 1.5 mill over power steering issues.

Geronimo '74 03-01-2010 10:20 PM

What's Toyota's grand total? 9,000,000 or so....

They should execute the entire QA/QC department...

porsche4life 03-01-2010 10:22 PM

Having driven dads toyotas and some Detroit crap belonging to customers.... Toyota is still my choice....

Geronimo '74 03-01-2010 10:25 PM

I have never owned anything other than German cars...
If I don't win the lottery, I will keep on driving exclusively German cars. (the German engineering supremacy still kinda lives around these parts)
(otherwise I might own various supercars, hey, one can dream, can't he)
