I called AT&T about activating the iPhone on my account. Right now I pay about 30 bucks a month for the phone service. I don't text and I have the internet disabled. To activate the iPhone is 30 bucks a month more & to get unlimited texting is 25 bucks. So is would cost my 55 bucks MORE per month. That is 660 bucks a year. I can buy a set of tires for my 911 for less than that. I see the draw of the iPhone. It is a cool gadget and with wi-fi I can play with it some. But I just can't see 660 buck more per year. Since I am not under a contract I may enable the iPhone for the Porsche Parade in Chicago. If I get hooked I will blame Sidney :) |
Tis not my fault Glen....
It is a handy gadget while traveling..... I'm about to jailbreak mine so I will have internet tethering again.... Oh ya... Morning boys.... |

Around here 16 is the age of consent. But... Since I'm over 18 there are a few instances where it could get ugly. I'd have to be reary reary careful |

I'm needing a replacement computer. Can't decide on a desktop or notebook/netbook.
I've had this Dell E1405 laptop for 5 years now. It's battery is shot, the charger is shot and I had to hack up the cord and solder the connector together and tape it to the back of the computer to keep it powered all the time. It can't charge anything. The screen blips in and out at times. So I've got it's life expectancy out of it. Kinda thinking about dropping the cash on an HP Touchsmart PC... looks novel- I like the all in one design- I don't have tons of room. Definitely don't want to build another PC- done that for years... always too big and loud. I don't need a powerhouse. 80% of my work is MS Office related. MATLAB simulations every now and then, and solid modelling- but that all works fine on my 5 year old PC now, so I don't need killer speed. On the other hand, those Asus/HP netbooks are so ridiculously cheap I could afford to buy one and if I didn't like it, oh well- not that much out of my pocket. |

Its not going to stop me.... I just have to tread lightly.... |
it kinda comes down to how the family likes you. i had a girlfriend just out of high school. she acted older, bought beer, etc. her dad liked me, which was a first. we'd hang out and watch movies, etc.
one day, i go over and find out that its her birthday. her 16th birthday. i about crapped my pants. we hadn't done it (in fact, we never did, i don't know exactly why), but it was still a shock to be at her 16th birthday party and i felt slightly dirty. i had just turned 18. anyway, everyone was cool and it seemed like a non-issue and i really liked the girl, so i didn't let it bother me. we dated for about three years. she was great. i've talked to her since, and we both were a bit non-plussed that we didn't ever get busy. |
The age gap doesn't really bother me other than a possible legal issue.... Don't think dueller is licensed in OK.....
I mean my last g/f was 2yrs older than me.... |
at 18 and 17, even 19 and 17.... after the fact of a relationship is established, there are no legal issues.
but, if you aren't good enough friends to trust each that much, why have the relationship and the sex? there are easier, greener, less worrisome pastures, if a quick fk is all you are after. |
Speaking of girlfriend's fathers-
Once dated a girl who had a pretty cool dad. He was an engineer, so we always had plenty to talk about. Me and the girl were off and on, we broke up for a while, one weekend I find out she's in town so I see if she wants to hang out, maybe rekindle the flame yknow.. I go over to the house and her dad answers the door- turns out Kristen went shopping with some friends. I guess I was early or something, we hadn't really setup any plans, I was just stopping by. So her dad is like "well... she's going to be out for a while" and I'm all ready to leave and then he goes "wanna come in for some drinks?" - awesome. So he makes a batch of margaritas because they had some mixer left over and we downed em on the patio while trading stories. After a giant pitcher of margaritas is gone... we're both feeling pretty good- he looks at me with this intese look and says "HEY! wanna go get a CASE of BEER?" so I'm like sure... he runs down the to gas station and grabs some coors and we start cracking them open by the BBQ we just lit. A few hours pass and finally Kristen comes home. She comes around the back of the house to find me and her dad trashed. There were some akward conversations that ensued with her addition, mainly for her I think. Good times. |
lol!
