Morning Y'all
Wow nothing like having to deal with the phone company because of intermittent dsl service when I have no phone number.
Bad part is my cell runs through the internet. Yeah really nice rig.

When SW-Bell was first rolling out the DSL service our business was one of the first in Oklahoma to use it. A friend was a top manager at SW Bell and his department was in charge of installing it. Our company was within a rock throw of the local switching office. At one point I had 5 SW bell technicians in my office, and there were over a dozen on a conference call. They were all discussing how to make it work and trying to learn what the problems were. After an hour of nothing one of the guys in another state said, ok let me try it this way. Bingo we had DSL service. At first it was not throttled back and was crazy fast. Then they whipped out the meter and cranked it down to the speed we were paying for.

The top manager guy then mentioned to everyone on the call and in my office that their goal was to do 20 installs a day in the next week. They all laughed.

Good Monday morning folks.

I have a strong lazy streak in me. I guess I spent a lifetime of days at the beach. BTDT don't care to go back. The picture of chairs at the beach would bore me to tears in minutes. Maybe I just hate the sand in everything syndrome.

There would have to be some better scenery and waves than in that picture for me to stay there. Otherwise I would just nap at home. Most of the beaches around here are just boring sand. There are a few with tidepools and those are the only ones I've really been to much. Up in the SLO area there is Montana de Oro and that has cliffs and rocks and hills to climb.

But that beach is calm and peaceful. A good place to just lay back, enjoy the beauty of nature and forget about all your troubles.

Looks boring to me - I like scenery. It at least needs a sunset. I could only sleep there for so long before getting restless.

I'm not a water person, though. So maybe that is biasing me. Or it could be all the nice California beaches. Driving up the coast so much between TO and SLO I got to see plenty of awesome sunsets on the ocean with neat looking hills and mountains (layered ancient seabed uplifted and tilted vertical) to the east. Oh, and trees. I like green stuff.

Montana de Oro: great hiking and mountain biking trails.

This isn't me, but I hiked up to a peak that was higher than this one. I like the view of the beach better from here. You can still hear the surf miles away.

If I am going to nap I prefer my recliner or bed at home.

Sidney, this is why we get along. It looks perfect. I am a beach/water person for sure. Well, outdoor person in general. I love the mountains, beaches, desert, forests, whatever. I love the outside. But beaches, my favorite. If I won the lottery, I would have a beach house and a mountain cabin. Best of both worlds.

I like the outdoors, forests and mountains are cool. They have fun curvy roads to get you there.

We used to go spend a week at a time at Bellows AFB in Hawaii. It is pristine, not crowded and beautiful. The cabin was right on the beach. Walk out the back door of the cabin and step onto the deck, then the beach. After one week all the clothes, the food and everything has sand in it.

We did that at Christmas vacation several times.

Max, I don't think you are geting what I'm saying... That beach just begs for a day of snorkeling and laying around drinking cervezas. You all know how much I love big rocks, and hiking and climbing on and around them. Different beaches for different things, and sometimes you just wanna lay out for a few days and enjoy the white sands and blue water.

Exactly! You get it! Lets go to the beach and leave this stuffy crowd here! Go hang out and beach bum around, the mountains are cool, but I'm worn out when I hang out in the mountains, have fun, but I go hard. The beach is great for sitting back and relaxing.
