You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

Other forms of Cricket have one innings each and are of limited overs (six legal balls/over and either 50 or 20 overs per side). The only difference I know of for the ball is colour. Test match balls are red, while limited overs matches are white. The limited overs matches are often played under lights, and it's a bit hard to see the red ball coming at you at 150kph under lights.

Um, thanks for the "explanation" now I am totally confused. Am I in or out? It sounds like a dog I had. If she was in she wanted out and if she was out she wanted in. What does any of it have to do with the type of ball used? She preffered tennis balls.

I don't either. It's like talking to my boys on the phone and they are saying,"See mommy? Do you see that? That is what I am talking about." No, I don't see. ;)

In? Out? What does that mean? We need some diagrams or video. Maybe I can find something on YouTube...

But Jeff, so impressed you typed that out to explain it to us American folks. I guess I just need to visit so you can explain this in person. Ha ha!

One thing I do know is that a cricket bat would make a great weapon. :D

Joe, aren't you the one that bought the boys the rocket ship? Well, we put it together today and they loved it!

Hey, my girlfriend does that! In the Strong Woman competitions, right?

HHI944 09-07-2013 10:55 AM

Yeah, that was one of the things I sent! Glad they enjoyed it!

Strong Woman Comps always impress me more than Strong Man Comps.....and I've done a Strong Man Comp...
Back when I worked on a Horse Training Farm, I used to take feed bags 6 at a time from the truck to the storage shed.....freaked the jockeys out bad the first time they saw me do that!

That gal has ~160lbs on her shoulder!

One of my skinny high school buddies had to move to his uncle's farm for a year. He was 16 and that uncle worked him like a rented mule. He returned to school and all the girls started chasing after him. The football coach followed him into a room to get him to play.

Back from breakfast... Didn't get to talk to glen much though...

I'll go finish my playing in the dirt project as the sun starts to go down. I'm building a small RC track with some jumps. Nice having tractors, just a couple hours last night and tonight and I'll be ready to go!

nynor 09-07-2013 12:38 PM
