SteamWolf, nice looking spot. Where abouts? We used to do similar up around Dargo, but panning for gold.

That was at Three Waters Homestead on the way to Emmaville, just north of Glen Innes.
We do a fair bit of gold panning around Copeland and Stewartsbrook. Good fun!

Well, finally making good progress on the rc airboat. Got the pontoons attached to cross beams and the main platform. Then, got the engine mount built. Just have to attach the mount tower to the platform, figure out how I'm going to rig up the air rudders and work out the electrics

What's to figure out? That's easy.

Nice. Sorta know the area. Had a car accident on the road from Emmaville to Deepwater back in the early 80's. Was living in Inverell at the time. Used to do a bit of fossicking for sapphires around Inverell back then.

pete3799 10-09-2013 04:59 AM

Very frosty here.

Andy911sc 10-09-2013 05:08 AM

Pete, do you have snow yet?

GH85Carrera 10-09-2013 05:29 AM

It's 55 and sunny here. I was going to drive the 911 today but I went into commute mode and just got in the Elky and drove to work like usual.

There is another weather system scheduled to come through on Saturday. That is a shame because the Dutch are invading!

I got this recently:

Greetings and guten morgen to you! I'm writing to invite your consideration regarding an interesting event coming up on Oct 12th. A few weeks ago I got an email from a fellow in Holland. Seems that a group of folks is coming to the US in October to run Rt 66 as a group, and he invited our Jag Club to participate in some way or other. The run will start Oct 5th and they plan to end in LA on Oct 21st. They'll stay in Joplin on Oct 11th and OKC on Oct 12th, don't know which hotel yet.

In our group we have one Mercedes 190 SL. The group counts 4 classic
Jaguars, 2 Jaguars XK8, 1 Mercedes 190 SL, 1 Saab, 1 Bentley MKVI (1950), 1
Peugeot 403 and 10 classic Citroens.

I may try to meet up with them since they pass within a couple of miles of my house. I drive over old RT-66 every day on my commute to work.

pete3799 10-09-2013 05:59 AM

No snow yet Andy.
Been unusually warm for Oct.
High winds on Mon. pretty much cleaned all the leaves off the trees.

GH85Carrera 10-09-2013 06:33 AM

Wow, we have not seen any color on the trees yet. They should start turning soon.

Today is yet another major anniversary. 22 years ago today I bought my El Camino. I have had my Elky longer than I have had my wife.

Rick V 10-09-2013 07:05 AM

I don't think we are going to have much of a leaf season this year. Looks like they are going from green to dead

Which one has been more reliable?
