Okay Beth needs a new phone (good thing I have the best insurance ever) she does not have wifi unless it is in airplane mode. Turn the phone back on and the wifi goes out. I see a trip to best buy in her very new future.

azzarule 10-14-2013 06:23 PM

sounds like what happened to the midgets phone. I got him a HTC Galaxy something or other number thing, I think..I got what ever he told me he wanted. Keeps him happy!

I suggest you do the same for Beth. lol

Guy in Dallas/Ft Worth Area, works as and engineer. Gets a 928 and enjoys tinkering with it. Finds a 928 parts seller is only a few miles from his house. Starts helping tinker on 928s for the parts guy. Gets requests on recommendation from the parts guy to work on other cars. Enjoys it and gets a reputation as being a good wrench on 928s.

Over the next two years gets enough steady work working on local Porsches that he quit his day job and does wrenching on Porsches full time and is making more money including paying for his own benefits.

Couple more years and now the guy is booked up 2 months out and still enjoys wrenchng on Porsches out of his 2 car garage.

He charges $65 an hour.

I assume he's referring to either vibration issues given the proximity to the engine or water spray issues.

I've never had a vibration related servo failure and the Futabas in there are supposedly pretty resistant to that kind of thing.

As for water, all of the seams on those two servos were roughed slightly then RTV'd, a nice tight O ring jammed down the control horn shaft and before it runs, they'll get smothered in marine grease. That 'should' take care of the water issue. If not, I'll rework things and build a second box with pushrod guides for that area
