According the US Geologicsl Survey it was a 3.9 and the epicenter was just 7.5 miles almost due east of my and Glen's houses and 9 km deep.

Morning everyone.

Question for the 911 guys. I just noticed this yesterday but on the SC did they put the passenger side mirror back further than on the driver side on purpose?

RKDinOKC 11-05-2013 05:58 AM

Yep on the mirror, it's not about symmetry, it's about form follows function.

Do you set your side mirrors as side view or duplicates of what you see in the rear view, ie. can you see the side of your car at the edge of the mirror?

If they were symmetrically placed, you'd be looking through the A pillar when you're trying to see out the passenger side mirror.

I figured it was about function, just when you have a bad time with perfectionism it screams at you. I actually have them set up to see blind spots. If I want to see behind me I would use my review.

I stick my held about middle of the car and adjust the passenger mirror to see down the side of the car and then my head against the driver side window to set the driver side to see down the side of the car. That way when you sit normal it covers your blind spots.

livi 11-05-2013 06:45 AM

Thats funny. I have never noticed that. I suppose it must be the same with the Carrera then.

That's not how they teached me back in the day, but it's how I do it.
