If it's been sitting for very long, seems like shipping would be well worth to get the electrics sorted.

Morning Y'all,
Took Devon to the 2015 STI unveiling party last night and the dumb ass sales manager threw me the keys to a new BRZ since he knows I want one. Nothing feels quite like planting the go pedal to the carpet in a car that has five miles on it. I have to say if it had about fifty more horses it would be a really really fun car, as it is is is just a fun car. It actually has oversteer in the front end. (we took the non straight roads)
I also offered David an invitation to ship his car to me or ship me to the car to fix it, I think he got scared when I said he would have to feed me.
How was it other than being down on power. Will the turbo car be a home run?

Rick V 05-17-2014 10:51 AM

Sid if you like forced induction the car will be a home run, personally I think a supercharger would be the best for it. If I were to sell the Boxster and get a new daily the BRZ would be on a very short list.

My concern is the small space in the car. For about the same money you can get the focus St. Which has oodles of power and plenty of space.

Rick V 05-17-2014 11:27 AM

It has rear seats but they are only good for your insurance guy. It has no room for stuff. Not a concern for me but I am not the usual person. As long as I can get a guitar and long spoon in it I am good

Jim Richards 05-17-2014 11:36 AM

@lax. :)

porsche4life 05-17-2014 11:53 AM

You suck Jim!

Rick, go drive the focus. ;) I fit in the backseat and it's a damn little go cart! ;)

Jim Richards 05-17-2014 12:18 PM

Thanks Sid! :D

We're on the supershuttle heading to our OC hideaway. So much sunshine...I'm not sure my retinas can take it:cool:

Friggin beautiful here today. Took the Lotus up to a great burger joint in Beaufort...all grass fed beef and 19 rotating taps of craft beer.....YUM!

I got that as well. They say to wash you car at home. So after 1600 miles they don't think it will get dirty? Is there a car wash business in Monterey?

I bet you can find one near Monterrey on your way in at least...

And front wheel drive, something I refuse to drive

Jim Richards 05-17-2014 04:17 PM

I wouldn't want FWD either, Rick, Sid. That's something I've never been able to warm up to.

Rick V 05-17-2014 04:31 PM

Hey Jim you left a beautiful weekend here, I'll make sure to enjoy it for you

I enjoy hustling a little FWD car around at autocross. :D

FWIW there was at least one BRZ at the autocross I took the focus to. It was several seconds behind me and I had the traction control and really wasn't pushing it. You really have to drive an ST, its not like other FWD cars.

Rick V 05-17-2014 05:20 PM

I'll still pass

Flieger 05-17-2014 08:03 PM

I agree with Rick and Jim.

Reminds me of two elderly black women getting their picture taken. The photographer put his head under the blanket on the old camera and one lady asked other, "What's he doin?" The other lady answered, "He's trying to focus." The first lady says, "Bofus?"

Old joke.

It is very close to home for me. My first job was at a portrait studio and we used an old 8x10 portrait camera with a 5x7 back that held a split 3x5 adapter. It would let us use 5x7 film and shoot two images on one piece of film. We really had to use a dark cloth to see the image to focus and frame up the image. I heard that joke from my old boss on my first week of work.
