Love mine. But certain groups don't like to see it at the range.

Mine is coming along well, It will be nice one day, right now it is just a tool

pete3799 05-18-2014 06:49 PM

Yup.....grounds are all cleaned up. I'll take the solenoid apart and shine up the contacts, clean and lube, check the brushes, etc.

Evening guys... Tweeze and I took a little drive in the Porsche this afternoon on some twisty roads just out side of towns. Lots of tight hairpins marked 10mph. I was having fun! :D She wanted me to take it easy. ;)

Neat little lake up in the hills too. Need to go up and rent a boat and play for the day....

I finally have the quirks ironed out of mine, so I'm done until the form 1 comes back and I get to buy a stock....unless I find a deal on an ACOG.....or unless 300blk ammo becomes more available, might switch it over then...and I might grab a kx3....oh lord, who am I kidding, these things are an endless pit...

Pete, I tried everything on my old starter. Nothing would cure the heat soak lockup. I just put in a high torque starter instead of the Bosch.

G'day Ladies and Gents.

Time to chill, I didn't have too bad a day for a Monday. It went quick enough, so I must have been busy.

RKDinOKC 05-19-2014 03:42 AM

Did moonlighting all weekend. Finishing up a web site I am hosting for a Project Management Consultant.

Next I get to build two web sites, one selling fancy chocolate stuff, the other selling coffee and nuts. Glen, tell Richard I said thanks for the referral. Between my Kimray Job, Taking care of Mom, and the sideline stuff, very busy this spring.

So, what's better, Battery Maintainer or Battery Disconnect?

OR is about 2 years all I should expect from the current car battery technology when driving less than 10 miles every couple of weeks?

Drive it more!

I use a battery maintainer on the 911 when I know I will not drive it for a few weeks. It just takes seconds to plug it in or unplug it. The car is ready to go with no delay. I always figured the battery gets regular juice just like driving it.

Good Monday morning folks!

RKDinOKC 05-19-2014 06:10 AM

Up until the foot thing and Mom getting worse I wasn't having a problem.

Porsche-poor 05-19-2014 07:26 AM

morning all. Yep its a Monday...........

Jim Richards 05-19-2014 07:35 AM

I use a battery maintainer for the garage queen and the pickup, since they only get used every couple of months.

After chatting with Rick over the weekend it looks like the switch in question was removed and plugged. Have a few things on order from PP now will know by the end of the week if they fix it. If not time to consult master Rick for step 2.

This is what I use:
Ctek 12V Multi US 7002 Battery Charger with Cigarette Lighter Adapter Optima AGM | eBay
In addition to aligator clamps and a lighter connector for charging, It comes with little cables with quick disconnects so you can wire your cars. You can order additional ones or extensions. It is great for garage queens, but can easily be disconnected and used for other cars. I have one for each 911 and keep them hooked up all the time when not driven, but routinely plug up my other cars in the winter and get them back up to full voltage.

I have owned my cars too long to blame much on the PO.

I still cuss at the dumb moron mechanic that worked on it last. I would fire him if I could find someone else to buy the parts and work on the cars for free. Heck I even have to pay for the beer consumed during the work!

Porsche-poor 05-19-2014 08:44 AM

I'm still learning about things on the car and worse what things are not on the car.....
