Head west to my folks place, they've usually got a few of the little guys around.

When we were kids we loved chasing them and catching them. They are almost impossible to keep in captivity. We always released ours. Both of my grandfathers would pay 25 cents each for them to be put in the back yard garden.

I last saw one about 20 years ago or so.

My folks don't mess with the harvester ant dens, and even feed them occasionally, because of that the horny toads have plenty of food so they hang around.

When we caught one we would tote it over to an ant nest and watch him suck up ants until his belly was full.
