Porsche-poor 06-03-2014 07:07 AM

Well the oil was still purple when I changed it. You know what that means? I didn't get to drive it enough since the last oil change. :(

Getting a pop out of the right side pipe as well. I don't think it has gotten warmed up enough the last couple times I moved it. Might have to go open it up a bit somewhere and clean the plugs.

HHI944 06-03-2014 08:05 AM

I just switched the Lotus to royal purple. A neighbor came by as I was finishing up and pouring the oil in.....he said, "holy *****, that stuff is actually purple??"

Porsche-poor 06-03-2014 08:05 AM

sounds better than being at work.

flipper35 06-03-2014 08:10 AM

^^^ Isn't that pretty much anything that isn't work aside from maybe a colonoscopy.

flipper35 06-03-2014 08:10 AM

Oh, and the hall effect sensor is messed up. Pegs the needle at 160 as soon as i start it. Bad ground?

so true......had that done last year I think I should have gone to work instead....

flipper35 06-03-2014 08:23 AM

I have a few years at least before the royal treatment. Not looking forward to it.

It is too nice out right now to be working. Mid 70s and sunny. Why does it rain on the weekends? Oh well, school is done this Thursday and I get to go to work from 7-3:30 next week. Oh joy, I get to get up even earlier then. I am not a morning person. Well, I guess I am if I haven't gone to bed from the night before. Deer season is killer getting up at 4:15am.

Porsche-poor 06-03-2014 08:30 AM

family history sets the tone for me, every 5 years. Its not to bad have done it twice now.

no rain here yet but we have the June gloom going on. the marine layer pushed in at night and burns off by the afternoon.

I had my second colon scope. The doc told me to be sure to fart to get all the air out. He did NOT put a time limit on that. I am under doctors orders to keep farting to eliminate the gas the doc used. My wife thinks there should be a time limit but I don't think so. Ahhh.

RKDinOKC 06-03-2014 08:37 AM

The colonoscopies I've had, they put me out before doing anything.

Doc said he was doing digit video, said it was too big of a file when I asked for a copy.
Told me they filled my guts with gas, Laughed when I asked if I would blow up if there was a spark.
Then the smell of sodium pentathol and woke up in the recovery room.

flipper35 06-03-2014 08:45 AM

Yeah, both of dad's parents had colon cancer. His three brothers all had and are recovered from prostate cancer. I guess some of us have hit the genetic anti-lotto.

As I get older there are things about my grandparents that went unnoticed as a young kid but now I kind of go "whoa". My maternal grandpa was always laughing and playing with us and loved to throw the football with us. Even in high school I was apprehensive to play because every so often he would tell us here comes a bullet and I swear if we didn't catch it it would drill through our chest. I always knew he was pretty strong because he was a farmer. A few years ago I saw a picture from when he was in the army. He was shirtless and looked a lot like a young Burt Lancaster but the chest and arms were more Sugar Ray and I thought holy crap, no wonder he throws like Favre. Then mom mentions that picture was taken before one of his matches. Huh? Turns out he boxed for the army and was pretty good at it.

Family history's are fun. Things you didn't know, things you didn't want to know.

Jim Richards 06-03-2014 11:33 AM

Oh boy, the colonoscopy forum!

flipper35 06-03-2014 12:00 PM

I hope so, otherwise it would be the constipation forum.

Yea, it is interesting to find the truth about relatives. My mother's grandfather was a card carrying socialist. I have his membership card with attendance stamps. He was a man that owned a fairly large ranch near Driftwood, OK. It is strange to be a socialist and own property. His oldest daughter inherited most of the family fortune and became a opium addict and blew the family fortune.

My paternal grandfather was nicknamed Red. I found out he was a real hell raiser when he was young.

I traced my family tree back 10 generations. Past that is pretty pointless.
