David T wanted me to buy a dark dark dark blue 6 cylinder Cayenne being advertised for the same price at our local dealer. The 6 has 77K miles, the S has 120K.
David said he would get the one with smaller motor and lower mileage because it will get better gas mileage and have fewer problems. Gas mileage is rated a whole 1 mpg lower both city and highway on the S. Called salesman friend at local dealer he said I do not want the 6 they are selling. It has a host of problems, rattles, suspension creeks, ABS, brake wear, and check engine lights come on after a few minutes of driving. Said it is being listed and shown by the Cadillac part of their car lot and probably on the lot to bring in SUV buyers to make their Cadillac SUVs look better so they could up-sale. Drove the Rover around close to home for about 10 minutes in the afternoon heat. It started doing the same thing, hesitation and backfiring when applying throttle. Let it set for 10 minutes then limped it home accelerating very gradually. Every once in a while it would run normally for a few seconds then back to no power. Ordered a new ignition module $45. |
Wanna start a pool on when the Cayenne will get here?
Anybody wanna buy a 92 Range Rover? Runs and drives great for 10 minutes at a time. |
G'day ladies and gents.
Not a bad weekend - played golf on Friday and Saturday. I'm feeling it now though, after not playing for a couple of months. Spent most of today sorting through my taxes. :( Got to wear shorts today though - that was a bonus. The German lady in her red dress looks very sexy Richard. Good form what (golf clap) ;) |
Did someone say lady in a red dress? I hope it is a short dress

Might be able to talk Beth into taking Peggy out there and trailer it back for ya. You rent the trailer, pay the fuel and her mileage.

Gotta get something for it, put $2500 worth of Stereo in it, bluettoth, airplay, usb, 5.1 surround - sounds fantastic.
Thinking of listing on Autotrader for $2700. Assuming the ignition module fixes it. |
I looked into flying to Ayers NC and driving it back to OKC when I bought it. Had some family I could stay with for free in Mississippi on the drive back. Would have cost me $750 for air fare and gas so shipped it for $600.

And missed out on a great bonding experience
|
Or Bondo experience
|
Oh I hope not.

Was going to make a drive out of picking up my 928, but before i could make arrangements the doorbell rang and there it was in the driveway. The guy I bought it from had shipped it to me.
I would go get the Cayenne, but don't have anyone to take care of Mom, and I think the drive from Chicago would be a little much for her, even though I have a family member I can stay with 1/2 way back in Rolla MO. |
True, Mom does come first

Don't need no stinking lift kit. She's got air suspension and a button to lengthen them legs.

Don't know about Beoncé, but this Cayenne S does.
Guess they don't call the Cayenne the Pig for nothing. |
