Who cares if it takes a bit of money to put it back together, it looks in pretty sound nick, and comes with heaps of parts.
Posting deleted, guessing a local jumped on it :(

Here's some eye candy from the Festival of Speed.

There were a couple other ladies there with similar shoes. They looked very precariously perched and watching them walk to the line for food I (and my dad) couldn't figure out who came up with the idea of high-heels. Stupid if you ask me.

Max should know--he probably spent all day lookin' at them. :p

Flieger 04-06-2014 10:50 PM

She looked even better in person than in the pictures, but she sure walked funny.

Not sure what you'd call them if they aren't in the category of "high heels" but my comment still applies.

There was also a girl in line for the 991 test drive (really a Pirelli tire demo) and she had cowboy boots on... good thing the cars were PDK but still, didn't seem like the kind of footwear you'd want to be wearing on the street when someone cuts you off and you have to slow down quickly.

Don't get me started.

Flieger 04-06-2014 10:51 PM

And actually I didn't spend all that much time looking at her shoes, just when I saw her staggering to the food truck next to the one my dad was in line for. OK, I am exaggerating a bit there.

High heels are any heel ranging from 2 to 5 inches.

High heels first appeared in the 1600 worn by Persian horseback soldiers. The heels were to keep their feet from slipping forward in the stirrups and helped standing in the saddle to fire off arrows. Think cowboy boots.

Historically high heeled shoes were worn by both men and women to show status and power, i.e. to look taller, ancient Eqypt, French aristocrats, etc.

It wasn't until after WwII that high heels were popular in womens fashion. It was to make them look like the bare footed pin-up girls pointing their toes to make their calves and legs look sexier. No idea when the stilettos, leather, and whips started, could have been the Persian Horsemen. They did have the high heeled boots and horse whips.

After my warranty repair at the bone crackers, my daughter found out I was wagging work today. Got a phone call from her asking if I would do babysitting duties this arvo. "No" is never gunna be an option. :D

We baked biscuits (cookies) - vanilla butter. it kept her busy for a while but she ran me ragged with her fingers into everything. :D

Chocolate Milk Stout, ahhh noooo!

Bummer the bus is gone, but it was a pretty good deal, probably had guys beating on his door first thing in the morning to get it.

Richard a bit worried that you know so much about ladies shoes, lol!

Max, my sentiments exactly, women might look okay standing still in high shoes, but the whole stupid walking look sucks, they would so much better in lower heels and able to walk.

GH85Carrera 04-07-2014 05:23 AM

Good Monday morning folks!

I always thought women in real high heels or platforms looked rather stupid.

Men in high heels is even worse! ;)

Shortly after I first moved to OKC I went down to a local cowboy outfitter store. I found some nice cowboy boots that actually fit. My foot is WIDE. I wear a triple E shoe. I wore those boots for a over a year and they fit but my feet would hurt at the end of the day. I switched to sneakers and walking shoes and me feet don't hurt.

Cowboy boots are wonderful if you work around livestock or ride horses. I don't do either so I don't need them.

The other thing is I prefer shorts all summer. Boots and shorts just don't go together.

Off to the fart sack. Night all.

GH85Carrera 04-07-2014 05:28 AM

Night Jeff, get all rested up and ready for w*** tomorrow.

I did get the 911 on the lift this weekend.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1396875766.jpg

I will indeed need a pit to make the lift convenient to use.

With the 2x12s on the ground I have almost no clearance.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1396875876.jpg

I have to remove the lift pads to get the car over the lift arms. I can drop it in the pit and put the taller lift pads on it. It will be much easier to use that way.

Andy911sc 04-07-2014 07:14 AM

nice Glen.

Morning Everyone.

Well, I had to order the steering wheel bushing. Mine must have failed on me this weekend. All of a sudden I got back into the 911 and had a lot of up and down play, followed by vibration on the drive home.
