Saving up the heat and humidity for my return to DC? I really don't want to leave this place. Yesterday, I got up, took a bunch of (de)construction debris to the dump. The, Lu and rented a sailboat and cruised around for a few hours. We took the 964 garage queen out for a spin. Cruised along the coast listening to surfing music oldies. Met our son and his GF for dinner. Great way to spend the last full day of our work-cation. I REALLY don't want to leave this place.

Anna's eyeballs are attached to the TV right now. May need surgical attention. Or a pull or a trip over the plug to the wall. Mrs. Noah has actually even suggested bribing them with doughnuts. (They're suckers for doughnuts.)

Oorg. There was another Tesla-related accident on the 14 last night. Tesla rear-ended a Corolla with 6 people. Tesla driver was OK, but the Corolla caught fire and 4 died. Some bystander was able to save 2 of the Corolla occupants (one of them a 6 year-old).

Saw that. Looked like a fairly high speed impact. Can't blame Tesla directly for this one, not yet anyway.

We saw a Prius killed (car only) in Laguna Beach. Some might claim a reduction in local smug levels, but I can't say I noticed that myself.

Evening Y'all.
Beth and I capped off our long weekend with a hike along the Appalachian trail to a couple of waterfalls, on the way back up the hill we stopped so Beth could catch her breath and just about twenty yards away was the biggest black bear I have ever seen in the wild, I am guessing 1,000lbs. It wasn't interested in us at all but I was real interested in getting my spoon out of my backpack. Very cool way to end the hike and Beth somehow managed to find the energy to walk at a decent pace the last half an uphill mile.

We slept in like teenagers today. We did not get out if bed until 8:45!

We watched the F1 race then I went to the garage. The valve adjustment is done. I took it for a test drive and all seems fine.

I need to watch a pro sometime do a 85 911 valve adjustment in 3 hours. It took me that long to get the valve covers back on and the spark plugs back in and hooked up.

My wife came out in the garage just as I was doing the hardest part. Getting the back clips on the air cleaner box. I told her that it is like mating with the 911. I have to lube up my arm with soapy water and cram it in the very tight hole that is next to the air box. Lube is vital.
I managed to get all four clips back on. I need a 10 year old boy with strong fingers to get his arm in there and flip the clips for me. Without a doubt the hardest part if the valve adjustment.
