This is the one I have. Has a pocket for a 1.5liter hydration pack.

That's a nice looking vest brent! My vest is just surplus stuff so nothing fancy. I decided to go to a chest rig because I'm a bit faster reloading from the chest and they adjust to armor a bit easier

No armor for me. This was $45 and it works well enough. I thought about a chest rig but then would have to buy a hydration unit later so it ended up this. Marpat digital woodlands underneath. I need to find a boonie hat, I don't like a ball cap so much.

I run just a plain ol propper brand cotton boonie. They're on amazon in a dozen colors/patterns for ~$12. I'm with ya, for actually being in the field, boonies are way better.

Gotta be able to jam body armor in for me....and I'm not small either, so a ton of adjustment is necessary in my case.

Just so we are clear since I don't want to give the wrong impression, the stuff we have is for playing out in the woods with others with airsoft guns and for hunting season. We have guys that served in places from Guam to Germany out there with us and you can learn a lot between branches and their culture but is still isn't the tactical stuff Joe does.

Good info there. I was hoping one of the hats would come in for today. I have an autocross this weekend. It is gonna be 100 degrees.

It's all about using the equipment properly. Most people will never have the need or opportunity to properly utilize the benefits of a chest rig. On the other hand, Tac vests are practical and cost effective. To many people buy gear ten levels above their skillset and need.
We had a guy running an HK MR556 with a fancy internally magnified elcan red dot sight and all tactical tailor gear....an easy $6k in kit and he could barely keep shots on a sillhouette, much less make kill or low percent shots.

I Really like my Pith Helmet for hot sunny days. Very shady and lets a breeze through. Very Cool. Keeps my neck and ears from burning too.

One with a solar powered fan would be nice for the hot windless days...

After college I got my Yamaha 175 enduro. then a YZ250 full on dirt bike. Then proceeded to break my femur. Rode them a couple of times after leg healed, then sold them both and have no desire left for a motorcycle.

I'm digging through IFAKs. Anyone have suggestions? My current FAK is way to big....it's basically a slightly condensed Combat Medic bag.

Improved First Aid Kit
You want:
Trauma shears
Chest seals
Quikclot
Battle dressings
Gloves
Alcohol pads
Oral Airways
and assorted bandaging junk

My chest seals need to be replaced in my FAK anyway
Hey Tweeze, got any of that stuff laying around?

Cool, I am on a drug testing program for Retinopathy (the blood vessels in the back of my eyes are swelling, the program is testing drugs to stop it). Anyway, they sent me a very nice FAK with all that plus hot and cold compresses as a 1 year anniversary gift for being in the program. Didn't know what some of the stuff was until I saw your list. Its in a red canvas bag with their logo instead of a white cross on it. I put it in my Range Rover.
