I had recruiters from the five services visit while I was in high school. My eyes eliminated me from serving where I felt I would have been able to contribute productively. Also, anyone that has gone through basic is thick enough skinned to take a joke. Well, that and when we vacation to the east we will give Hilton Head a very wide berth.
It was a good one just yanking your chain.

Sorry, my filter doesn't always work right.

I was most interested in the Air Force because I wanted to be a Hog driver. If I couldn't do that, an Eagle driver and if not that, Spectre, if not those, 2nd seat, work on them...

I could have gotten a desk job in any industry. With what is available now and the rules changes, I would join the Army right out of high school, probably career.

Army is definitely a good choice for anyone interested in aviation that doesn't mind rotors.

Spooky is the baddest fixed wing mfer. ...

When you attach an artillery piece to an aircraft bad things happen to bad people. When you attach an artillery piece and multiple auto cannons to an aircraft, crap gets real.

Flying a starch wing takes skill. Rotorwings are an art form.

The A-10 would still be my first choice. I see your tank and raise you 166,178 ft.lbs of energy at the muzzle or 52,112.5 ft-lbs just short of a mile down range.

Or in the case during the first Gulf War. The pilot was flying CAP for SAR and they saw a Hind-D heading towards the downed pilot. The Hog driver couldn't get his AIM-9 to work properly so he let loose a 2 second burst into the helicopter. It ceased flying.

That's the problem with rotors......They stop producing lift way too easily.....and bailing out takes serious skill....

Stall on a spooky is about 125mph.....you can safely land that, even on crap terrain without thrust reverse. Engines go out on an apache and you're about to find out the terminal velocity of your craft.

Take that back, the apache actually has a pretty slick ejection system that blows the rotors then launches the seats.

I just had a real character old timer customer come in.

He was 16 and lied about his age and joined the Army. He wanted to get off the farm and see the world. He was stationed in Germany. He fell in love with a German girl and married her. 57 years later 7 children and they are still married.

He served in the Army long enough to retire. He moved back to Oklahoma and bought a farm just down the road from his parents.

He bought a photo from us in 1985 and figured it was time for a new picture of the property.

My dad was on board when they dropped a daisy cutter in the jungle. From forest to toothpicks in a few milliseconds.

One of our distributors is have problems with their spam filter. They think it is breat because they are not getting any spam. However, they are also not getting about half their legitimate emails either. Not good in my book. They will call support for their mail serve (not the spam filter) but won't let me login to check their settings on either their mail server or their spam filter. I have more experience on both than they do.

I would like to apply either of those to their spam filter and their IT email guy. Now were is that code to call in a strike.

My brother was on a chinook in Viet Nam. Their chopper got pinned down by some gooks that were in a building. They called in their situation. Puff arrived and made one circle with the stream of tracers going from the side of the plane to the building then left. Brother said the entire concrete structure was reduced to rubble 2 ft deep and they were free to go.
