Oh sorry, there's a part of our indigenous population that lives in the river. They don't have to and I really don't understand why they choose to do so. The government throws plenty of money at them.

Well not exactly legal because of where I live but I just did a little soda can hunting from my back yard. 700yards, no problem (it is a calm day, no wind issues) and not only did the neighbors dog not like that thunder from my pick nick table but neither did they. Needless to say the dog is now quiet.
While not the nastiest one in the cabinet the 7 sure is the loudest, it makes a nice thunderous sound and not a sharp crack |
You should hear a 62gr 5.56 out of a 7.5" barrel......standing to the side

When my golden retriever was younger she barked at thunder. It was pretty funny. Thunder off in one direction and she would run towards that side of the yard barking. When it thundered off the other direction she would turn, run towards it, and bark. Storm knocked a big cottonwood limb out of the tree while she was barking at the thunder in that direction, she strutted around with a branch in her mouth acting like she had killed the the thunder. After her victory over the thunder tree she just sleeps through the storms now.

Found brother with MS that was living with me a couple of phone jobs that he could do from his wheel chair with a computer and headset. And they were things like wake up service, or phoning members of a goup with meeting change announcements, not telemarketing.
He wouldn't even look at the jobs because for every $1.00 he earned he would lose $.50 of disability pay. Told him that was $.50 more than he has now. He still did not want to reduce that disability check. If he earned very much at all he would have out-earned the $900 monthly disability altogether. Don't understand that mentality. |
I am not much on handouts.

evening all, miss me?
Just been slack, have been busy cooking, suffering (non to quietly) of a cold, and driving, not necessarily in that order. |
Nope, you have been texting Beth. :)

With this last years tax assessment the gov set out a statement detailing what they spent my taxes on. I was shocked to find out that nearly 37% of it goes into welfare. Education and public services get around 8% each, 1.2% goes to police and emergency services. Fcuked up is all I can say.

Bum! A water pipe split a couple of days ago and I've done a temporary repair (that is still leaking a lot). It needs a section of copper pipe replaced to fix it for another 30 or so years.
It appears that the combined collective of plumbers in town have all decided to take a holiday till next week. Here's hoping my patch holds till then. |
Copper is fairly easy, I am sure you know how to sweat pipe
|
tradesmen always take the Christmas New Year period off, your lucky they are back next week, it used to be a 6 week period you couldn't get one for any money
|
even I could do that, all you need is the sleeve, the right sodder, paste, and a butane torch, and a wire brush.

I need to get a plumber 'round anyway as the solar hot water service is playing up too - not that we really need much hot water this time of the year but Sharyn was not too happy about having a cool shower this morning. I don't know what she's carrying on about...I got a hot shower when I got up... |
It's getting parfy in here...
