Watched new Street Outlaws last night. Farmtruck picked up his newly built $52,000 motor. Don't know just how big it was, but it dynoed 1060 hp on an engine dyno and the builder commented he could put a 500hp NO2 shot on top of that!!!

Those guys mus be makin some buck bein on dat show!

One of the guys claimed his speed shop was so busy now he didn't hardly have time to work on his own car.

A 928 motor bored and stroked up to 650 rwhp is $33K.

There's a guy in the UK that has a 2000rwhp 928 on the bottle. His 0-60 is 2.8 secs. but his best 1/4 mile is 13.

I got aout of drag racing over twenty years ago, I just lost interest. Fastest thing I ever had a hand in was a 69 camero with a 396 Pontiac engine and a two stage "nause" it tripped the lights at 9.98 )or something close but it was sub 10) in a quarter.

Is he hitting the brakes after 70 MPH or does he have a 5:02 rear end and running out of gears?

With 2000 HP he should be sub 10 seconds for sure.

Good Morning Folks.

Rick, I think Pete has transferred his S**** curse to you.

The forecast is for light freezing rain tomorrow and winter mix for Friday. The good news is I am off work for that mess and I will hole up at home.

This is Sid's weather he is gonna send my way and you get to drive through it.

Yeah I just looked at the maps, it looks like I am in for a long drive. All jokes aside, Peggy may be coming out for this.

You do know if you do that all you will see is light rain. If you drive the Merc, it will be a massive winter storm from VA to AZ.

Either way we are ready. The guest bedroom is dusted, clean sheets on the bed and I will get the dirty car parts out of the bath tub in the guest bathroom.

I am actually checking an alternative route, due south from Dallas the due west halfway through the state. I swear I have the worst luck some times. I also have the return trip to worry about

So today is pack the car day, while Beth is at work, and wonder of all wonders, she has my car and lost the starter. WTF.
I am hoping it is just the battery since the car really hasn't been ran much in the last month and it has a high draw and demand, typical Boxster issue

So who is near enough to Joe and has the time to put up a camera to stream the entertainment.

Joe, if the gears don't do it there are motors that will spin considerably faster. I dn't know what they are at now, but some of the drag motors were 120k rpm.

Rick, no matter the option you choose the weather will not cooperate. It is they way of things.

Yeah, strange people prowling around my house with video cameras is an awesome idea....I'm definitely not too paranoid and heavily armed for that!

I think I'm gonna see what a 3s battery gets me over the 2s.........even running really hard, nine of the components have ever gotten hot so it should handle the extra voltage well....theoretically, that should net me a 50% increase....

If you can yank a steering wheel out of a car you are certainly heavily armed, plus your spoons.

As long as the ESC can handle it you should be fine. You probably don't need to throw 30' rooster tails in the sand traps.

Speaking of batteries, anyone have a recommendation for a good yet inexpensive battery tender? I don't really like driving the Cobra this time of year and it sits in an unheated garage. It was 0* on the way in today.

I like watching the Street Outlaws show. It's entertaining.

Yeah I thought the same thing with the UK guy's car.

Yeah, 13s in the 1/4 is a lot slower than my 406/435 Cobra. If he can do 0-60 in 2.8 something is wrong with the 1/4 mile time.

You would think a guy like Joe would have some security cams he could stream for us.
