If you move to tuscon you will be too busy enjoying the warmth to want to stomp me. ;)
I'm not suggesting hurting the kitty... Just sedating him for the trip! Oh and the weather isn't all rosy here. The lack of humidity means that it feels bloody cold at night! When it dips down into the 40s here you better bundle up, feels worse than low 30s elsewhere. |
I am well versed in radiational cooling and the effect humidity plays on it. I take cold nights with warm days over cold nights and cold days. :)

Very true.... Also here in town we have to deal with the heat island of all the asphalt. Towards the center of town and the airport is always about 5 degrees warmer than us in the outer edges. Glad we are on the outskirts(sorta)!
|
Well my plan is to move out into the desert or at the worst some small community. No concrete jungle for me. I don't play well with others and damn sure don't want people close.
|
I understand ya... And if our kids weren't already in this school district, we'd probably be moving farther out too...
I'm trying to get my folks to check out Queen Creek, Maricopa, and Apache Junction. All smaller communites on the edge of the big city. Still will have more amenities than where they are, and only a 30-45min drive to us or the big city. But I think it will be 5+ years before they try to relocate. |
All I need is internet, the rest I could care less about
|
I hear ya... I told you about our retirement plan... House built out of shipping containers way the hell off the beaten path! ;)
71 International Harvester 1210 Crew Cab 4X4 Truck Wish I had space to keep a truck around... Tidy up the interior a bit and this would be one cool old ride! I've got a soft spot for binders, since thats what most of the crane trucks we've had are mounted on.... |
|
There are some really cool container houses out there, I am really liking those, but having worked on more then a few of them I am not so sure I would like to live in one, they all need work to maintain
|
That depends on how you build it... I'd be building it for low maintenance and high energy efficiency... Nice thing about working under 600sqft, is that you can use the really good(pricey) materials, because you don't need much of them!
|
Thats true,. We passed a place in Tenn. last week that had hundreds of them for sale. It was like a car lot for containers

Yup... We went camping the weekend after christmas, which was record low setting.... I made sure we had plenty of insulation under our sleeping bags, but not an air mattress! And I covered our good warm bags with heavy wool blankets. Thuy and I were toasty. The boys got cold because they kept kicking the blankets off!
|
I went camping the other day.
No wait that was survivorman on a TV show. It look horrible. |
It's 72.7* warmer in the house than out right now.
We have no degrees out......and falling. |
Pete I have a couple of spare bedrooms, you are more than welcome
|
We should be above zero tomorrow sometime.
|
I was going to do some shooting this week but it would be kind of hard to hit anything while shaking.
I truly do hate winter |
-3 and dropping.......Put the coffee pot on Rick.

Regular or dark roast, and I am really not joking
