The only plastic left after these driveshafts will be the spur gear....everything else is aluminum or steel.

Well kiss that good by :)
Joe do you have any experience with a Vortex Strikefire II?

HHI944 01-09-2015 05:53 PM

No direct experience, but I've not heard anything bad about them. I wouldn't take one to somewhere hot, but only because they haven't had the time to get combat proven.

Rick V 01-09-2015 06:13 PM

After doing more looking I don't think its gonna work on my AR, I have a high top, and that thing is a tad bulky, although not as bad as the Bushnell already sitting up there

HHI944 01-09-2015 06:23 PM

Carry handle or one of those weird dpms receivers with the rail raised about half an inch?

Rick V 01-09-2015 06:29 PM

Carry handle

HHI944 01-09-2015 06:36 PM

Ugh... All the decent optics I know if that mount direct to a handle to keep it low are $$$

HHI944 01-09-2015 06:40 PM

The vortex SPARC has a low mount

Rick V 01-09-2015 06:41 PM

I have a pic rail mount for the carry handle so that isn't an issue, I just need to stay tight to the rail.

Rick V 01-09-2015 06:48 PM

Yup, only picture a full sized Bushnell sitting there

HHI944 01-09-2015 07:40 PM

They're hard to find, but there's a direct to carry handle mount for the aimpoint comp m2

HHI944 01-09-2015 07:42 PM

A.R.M.S. #16A Aimpoint M16 A1/A2 Carry Handle Mount

Of course, the gooseneck mount is a decent option as well

Morning Y'all,
Naw Joe I don't need to spend $80 to replace what I already have that works just fine, and Beth kind of got mad when I said I was taking the hunting glass off the thing and putting a red dot, she likes the scope up there.

RKDinOKC 01-10-2015 06:25 AM

May the rising of the sun greet you with a smile that warms your day.

Rick V 01-10-2015 06:44 AM

That was very Zen of you Richard. Those must be some damn good meds

GH85Carrera 01-10-2015 07:22 AM

Good morning folks. The smiling sun seems to be hiding behind clouds.

I will be heading to the El Camino breakfast soon. After that operation fish tank begins. My wife has had the same 30 gallon fish tank since before we were married. She is upgrading to a 75 gallon unit. That means a new stand, lights, different pumps and filters and so on. And she will need a lot more fish to make it look right. She is going to "let" me help her catch the current fish, drain the current water into buckets move the old tank and get the new one set up.

Rick V 01-10-2015 07:26 AM

That was mighty nice of her to allow you to help.
I am waiting for my son to get here to get my tool boxes off the truck. I took all the drawers out so they are just the shells but damn those things are heavy. I wish I had all this money back in cash right now. There is close to 100K sitting on my truck right now and it's all payed for. Tool guys hate me, I don't finance anything.

Rick V 01-10-2015 08:57 AM

Yeah I now have Peggy back in action. Pool Lanna though. Between the tool boxes that live here and the ones I just moved in there is a car somewhere in my garage
