The low miles part would be hard but I bet they are available around these parts.

911SauCy 01-08-2015 08:47 AM

Going to have to.

Want one with a stick and NO rot. Miles don't really matter

I'd love a K10, even harder to find

Y'all must have gotten our weather, it is on a warming trend here. Supposedly a high of 18* today! That is 25* warmer than yesterday. It is now snowing however. Glad I fixed the primer on the snow blower. I am going to have to use it tonight. :(

Pete, sorry about your temps.

When I was in Michigan for Porsche Parade it was just stunning how even fairly new cars had major rot. That does not happen much around here. We certainly have some winter weather and some salt is used but it is not a constant thing.

Actually my first car did quite well in ice and snow...

Me: Hello

Them: We are having some connectivity issues with some of the laptops.

Me: OK, when?

Them: Different times. We make a selection and it takes minutes before it comes up.

Me: I don't see what the issue is in the logs, can someone call when this is happening so we can diagnose the issue?

Them: We don't have time to make a call.

Me: You don't have 30 seconds to call while you are waiting minutes for your report???

When Beth and I drove to the UP of Michigan I was approached half a dozen times with offers to buy Peggy, they have all since rotted away and I think she was the only one running in that part of the country

If you've not experienced a good CT salt-job, you'd put money on the roads being covered in snow.

Today, the roads are completely white and Papa Smurf is covered in salt dust.

I'm always amazed that the DEP comes out running to make a sideshow if you spill 5 gallons of gas, but the state turns their heads to (probably) hundreds of thousands or millions of tons of salt being spread...

RKDinOKC 01-08-2015 02:06 PM

Did I mention I feel terrible?

Rick V 01-08-2015 02:26 PM

How did your appt go?

fintstone 01-08-2015 03:34 PM

Mamotorworks.com has a lot of VW stuff.

Any advice on where to get a new carb for the bug, since pelican doesn't sell aircooled be parts! I've bought stuff from CIP but have never been impressed. Looks like the solex 30pict3 carb that's on the big is toast. It's leaking fuel around the shaft for the throttle butterfly. The butterfly is all rusty so it won't come out, and he rest of the carb is pretty sad too. Easier to just get a nice new one.

it's a VW bug carb.... whittle a new one out of a piece of pine.

Surgeon just made neck hurt more by opening it up and cleaning it out. Meds that are supposed to be fighting the infection in the abscess are still bringing on the yeast infections and the meds for yeast infections are just barely doing anything. All the Docs are telling me they cant do nuthin more for the yeast infections until the abscess is healed. They did do a culture of the abscess and the antibiotic is the correct on for it. Oh, and the antibiotics are also upsetting my stomach and the pain in the neck is giving me a headache too.

Doesn't help that I am not a patient patient, especially when something hurts. Nope, don't like it a bit.

Oh yeah, surgeon says if it needs drained again she would schedule out patient OR and general anesthetic. Sounds to me like ER would be cheaper.

Used to be a place here in OKC that had all kinds of Bug parts. Can't find anything on em now.

richard, it is terrible you are dealing with this. it sounds painful, uncomfortable, and it seems chronic.

Dave, do you have a Maker's shop in your area? They should have an engine lathe you can use to make a production run or two. At least the three I've visited have at least an engine lathe better suited for turning metal.
I have a IT client that does the pre and production runs for me. They are just too busy to do the prototypes. Besides, I have fun with this stuff.

RKDinOKC 01-08-2015 10:41 PM

Makers Spaces are for fooling around especially prototyping. It's basically club type access to machines, including metal lathes, brakes, mills, and 3D printers! TOYS!

Outback Porsche 01-09-2015 02:50 AM

and it's still coming down in buckets.

The weather channel reckon we're in for another 100mm or more, and are calling it a 1 in 30 year event.

I'm glad I'm outside the 1 in 100 flood zone. :)

Rick V 01-09-2015 03:40 AM
