We are FINALLY done with project fish tank. The water is a bit cloudy still from the crushed coral base. The filters should clear it up in a few days. Now we just need to find a home for the old tank and stand.

porsche4life 01-11-2015 08:15 PM

Haha! Now its time for more fish right? ;)

The boys want to set up an aquarium, and I've toyed with the idea too, but its a lot of damn work, and we like to travel!

RKDinOKC 01-11-2015 10:36 PM

Do like the doctor's offices do, lease an aquarium. They will take care of the tank for everything but feeding, and will do that if you tell them you will be out of town. No idea how expensive it is though. Presume it is pricey.

There was a fish in my Chiropractor's big aquarium that would play peek-a-boo with me. Always cracked up the other patients in the waiting room. It would poke it's head out of the coral and look at me until I said "peek-a-boo." then it would dive back into the coral. I would move around the office and it would look for me and then wait until I said "peek-a-boo" again to dive back into the coral. Even the doctor thought it looked fun and said the fish didn't play with anyone else like that, and said he tried.

The aquarium started leaking and they had remove all the fish to fix it. Sadly, when they repopulated the tank it did not include the peek-a-boo fish. Got a few of the new fish to hide from me, but none of them would play peek-a-boo.

porsche4life 01-11-2015 10:37 PM

No clue either... But it ain't worth it lol.

RKDinOKC 01-11-2015 10:52 PM

Some people with pools pay for pool service too.

If I had had someone taking care of my big saltwater aquarium, they would have cleaned it and replaced all the fish when one of the new fish made all the rest sick and die. I had almost $400 in fish die.

Was contemplating getting an octopus. But, they are well know for escaping the tank, and I did NOT want to get up in the middle of the night and step bare footed on a soggy octopus.

Ended up giving all my aquarium stuff to a friend that helped me remove the engine from a Monte Carlo to rebuild and put in my GMC Jimmy.

Went to a hole in the wall authentic Mexican joint...had a beef burrito. Their beef burrito tasted exactly like my Mom's beef stroganoff. Mom's recipe for beef stroganoff is browned ground beef, Mushroom Steak Sauce, and Egg Noodles.

This is NOT our tank, but it looks a lot like this. I think was have 14 fish in there right now. There are two Clown Loaches and a few other African lake fish but mostly Cichlids.
