Something smells fishy about that Richard. So does the search go on or are you going to be content with the one you have?

RKDinOKC 03-01-2015 06:12 AM

Wasn't searching, just happened on what I thought was a really good deal. Happy with the one I have.

I would like white gauge faces though. Don't now what it is, but it is difficult for me to read the red needle on black speedo in daylight with my sunglasses on. Maybe it's the angle or something. Don't have that problem on the 928e So will be just looking for one of those white gauge face kits.

Missed a deal once on a 911 Turbo. It had been brought in to get an estimate to rebuild the motor that was apart and in a box. Local shop said 4k for stock, 5K to hot rod it. He had just moved here from houston and had already spent 12K on the motor and it also had a fresh paint job. Local mechanic said the problem the houston shop had charged him so much for and left the motor in pieces was a 100 dollar fix. He was pissed and sold it for only $5K. At the time that year and model was selling for $25k. Missed buying that one by 5 minutes and think quick enough to offer the guy that bought it a little more to flip it to me.

Good slippery morning folks.

We had a nice drizzle overnight so everything has a nice slick glaze on it. It is supposed to get to 38 later today so that clear crap should melt and run down into the drains.

The above freezing temps are doing a great job. Just slush and water. My Elky is filthy.

my wife bought some dog chewies from costco. they are brown, long, and thin. the bag reads 'natural beef'. i open the bag and immediately think that one of the dogs crapped in the house. yep, the new chewies literally smell like crap. so, i read the ingredients. "bull pizzle". my wife bought a bag of bull penises for the dogs. LOL! and the dogs love those dicks.

I am so glad I have cats now, I don't think anybody would try to package bull genitalia for a cat

nynor 03-01-2015 04:38 PM

i am going to try it out on the cat. seriously, i think it stinks enough for a cat to like it. i'll return with my findings.

nynor 03-01-2015 05:23 PM

the damn thing is so hard (uh huh, huh huh) that i couldn't cut it with kitchen shears. i am too lazy at the moment to get the saw out.

Rick V 03-01-2015 05:24 PM

Thats a lot of effort to be disappointed. Just sayin'

I usually just hit the floor running every day but today I just don't have any desire to get going. Gonna need extra coffee

Outback Porsche 03-02-2015 04:30 AM

Monday went quickly over here - a good thing.

I decided I needed to mow the lawn on account the wheelie bin gets emptied tomorrow, and if I fill it with grass clippings then I don't need to cart them to the dump.

It was still 37C when I finished at 7pm.

I'm rooted now and read for the fart sack.

Y'all have a good'un. SmileWavy

GH85Carrera 03-02-2015 05:28 AM

Morning folks. Evening Jeff.

I does seem kinda like a Monday for some reason. At least the frozen crap is off of the roads.

Am back on the quest to find any sort of tires for my 911 that are NOT treadwear 800 minivan tires or autocross gummies. I spent 30 minutes with a local mega tire chain and they could not come up with a singe set of staggered tires that are V rated, 15 inch with the proper load rating in a size that will fit.

Jim Richards 03-02-2015 05:31 AM

The frozen crap made it here yesterday, and the sidewalks have been treacherous ever since. Not happy.

Jim Richards 03-02-2015 05:32 AM

Choices in 15" and 16" tires are getting way too slim, Glen.

GH85Carrera 03-02-2015 05:40 AM

Yea, they are just GONE in 15 inch.

So far all I have found in a tire I can use on the highway in the rain that will fit are tires not sold in the USA. I may have to have something shipped in from Europe. That will be real cheap.

flipper35 03-02-2015 11:13 AM

Glen, get yourself some Avons. OK, they are gummy, but deeply treaded.

My Monday was a pleasant surprise. I got a call Saturday about a server down and our tech called again and again. Show up today expecting to work with the software techs to rebuild things only to find out everything is working fine. I don't often like surprises, but I'll take this one. Especially since the OS is near EoL and we need to replace it anyway soon.

HHI944 03-02-2015 11:19 AM

Sweet! Just snagged 3 used mags for the HK for $35 shipped!

GH85Carrera 03-02-2015 11:24 AM

Do you really think those Avons will be OK on the highway in a rainstorm? I have driven on autocross gummies coming home from an Autocross. They were terrifying. I was at 45 MPH and other cars and trucks were flying past me and I was dancing all over the road with virtually no traction. I decided then and there I would never have autocross special tires again. I have driven to 12 different Porsche Parades on both coasts and the only Parade that I did NOT have to drive through rain was the Fort Worth Parade in 2004.

I would love a decent set of summer performance tires. The only tires I can find that are honest street tires are P-6000 and those are only S rated. I have not been at triple digit speed since Laguna Seca last year but I do like to keep a track day as an option.
