Well friday I have to get the big stupid truck ready for the parade, I am going to be hanging out at the VFW most of the day, Sat I am going to be hauling the vets in the parade, then back to the VFW to undress the big stupid truck, and get ready for the evenings festivities, we are taking the truck to the fireworks, so I will be hauling lots of people in it again, sunday I am doing a fill in gig for someone at the local art gallery, so there goes four hours chunked right out of the middle of the day, then I get to go back to W on M.

It's show weekend here. I think that probably equates to a Fair in your speak. We'll probably take the little yard ape and fill her with fairy floss on Friday.

Good Monday morning folks.

Back to the normal grind for me. Today is my wife's last Monday ever. She will see many more first day's of the work week for me, but it will feel like Saturday to her.

I just came off a week of camping in the Michigan thumb/blue water area and had a good time....now back to work for 4 days trying to catch up and get ahead again before long weekend again.

Jim Richards 06-29-2015 05:45 AM

Morning, y'all. 245.

For the 4th, we'll do some grilling and watching the local fireworks display from the backyard. We'll also try to meet up for dinner with our son & fiance this coming weekend. Other than that, work, work, work.

Another quick hop in a tin can and then I'm home!

My nephew likes to play with fireworks and always puts together a nice fireworks show. He even has one of those computer controlled boards to set stuff off from. This year he may even try to make it go off to music.

Porsche-poor 06-29-2015 07:09 AM

Morning all. No big plans here for the 4th going to be way to hot to go anywhere and not be home incase the neighbors decide to set fire to everything.

GH85Carrera 06-29-2015 07:34 AM

As a kid I loved fireworks. In Hawaii New Years Eve was the day and night of lots of fireworks. I spend an entire day blowing things up every year. Maybe that got it out of my system. I just simply can't fathom blowing up my money. Fireworks are silly expensive. It just does not make sense to blow up my money. I will enjoy the fireworks put on professionals for free, but not if I have to spend my money. I can waste money on lots of better things.

flipper35 06-29-2015 08:08 AM

On more than one occasion I have slept through a fireworks display. The kids enjoy them though.

Porsche-poor 06-29-2015 08:22 AM

I'm with you Glen to much money wasted in the blink of an eye.

RKDinOKC 06-29-2015 08:26 AM

Got some old fireworks from when I was in college. That's how into shooting them off I am. Not sure if they would pop, fissle, or worse. Several years ago I did set off one of the pop bottle rockets and it worked as expected...sssssssssssssst, pow.

GH85Carrera 06-29-2015 08:33 AM

Why do you keep old explosives?

yeah that's even more crazy!

HHI944 06-29-2015 08:38 AM

Ahhhhh, the 4th....time to 'plant a freedom garden' I'll need lots of fertilizer.....

That was a joke, in case whatever NSA nitwit assigned to this forum didn't catch that intent

GH85Carrera 06-29-2015 08:46 AM

OK Joe, I am clueless. What is planted in a freedom garden? Is that like a victory garden with vegetables for food?

Why would the NSA care at all?

HHI944 06-29-2015 09:17 AM

I am soooooooooo not explaining that on a public forum

flipper35 06-29-2015 09:38 AM

Oh come-on Joe, what's the worst that could happen?

I bet any love your neighbors had for you would be completely gone. My cousin could do it, but he is licensed and has the trucks to do it.

RKDinOKC 06-29-2015 09:55 AM

I would have to find them before I could dispose of them. Thank about all that's left is a couple of smaller firecracker packs and almost a gross of pop bottle rockets with report. Originally kept them because you couldn't buy pop bottle rockets with report any more.

Back in the 1960s my FIL and his brother were cleaning out an old tool box they had just picked from the farm of a friend. Inside was a 1/4 stick of dynamite. Two guys in their 30s and brothers to boot. They figured if they set it off in the dirt street it would just make noise and not do much. They were wrong. It left a large crater that they had to drive around for months before the city got around to fixing it.
