Good Morning
If you haven't noticed...IT'S THE WEEKEND! |

Beautiful morning here. Nice cool 54 degrees. The bad news is the high for tomorrow is freaking 90! Dang I am ready for fall and cool weather. We are supposed to be in the 80s all next week.
I suspect it will go from 80s to ice storms with no real fall weather. |
|
That was today
Good morning btw |
Holy ****! That's like 108 in American!
|
Got a little while to go before gets proper hot :D
|
Oh, and I played a game of golf a couple of hours later.
It's a dry heat |
A beautiful fall day here. My son and I are off to visit my mom and put her summer yard furniture away. I would suspect that there is a roast in her oven waiting for us. :D
Enjoy the weekend fellas! |
Burp.
Just got back from the El Camino club breakfast. Burp. |
When my Mom forgot how to cook I had to start making things like Roast, etc. She would only eat if it was home cooked stuff and then only one round of leftovers. Learned to cook most stuff in smaller portions. But I was still throwing a lot of food away. Stores just don't sell stuff in small enough portions and I hate freezing food either before or after it's cooked.
With Mom gone I don't fix much like that any more. My grocery bill is less than half now, including eating out. I've considered subscribing to one of those cooking club things where they send just what you need to fix one meal at a time. Found they are more expensive than throwing all the extra food away. The only big feed thing I didn't learn how to make before it was too late was Grandma's Chicken Noodles, with home made noodles. All I know is that it takes all day to make. Would just love a meal of Grandma's chicken noodles with a side of super salty green peas and a couple slices of home grown tomatoes. Kind of a funny thing. Went to this little hole in the wall authentic Mexican place for lunch one day. Had the beef burrito. It tasted exactly like my Mom's Beef Stroganoff. |
Just back from a drive on Muholland Hwy. And breakfast at the Rock Store. Aptly named, as my breakfast burrito went down fine but it's sitting like a big lump in my stomach.
This drive is 225-250 miles round trip, and the garage queen just rolled past 40kmiles. I could hear the value plummet as the odo hit that milestone. :D:D:D |
Evening Y'all
Tomorrow is gonna be fun, Beth and I are going back up to white rock falls to take on the long lop again before it is too cold to do it. This is the hike that has the 30 foot rock face to climb. No biggie for my long arms and legs but it scares me when Beth does it |
I'm too much of a sissy boy to try something like that.
We're on our way back east tomorrow. Final day blues. :( |
Take my advice Jim, don't come back.
I love ya and all but stay away |

Duse, I can pick up coins with my toes, I honestly climb in bare feet, but it isn't nasty at all for me, but Beth is NOT too much of the climber.
Speaking of Beth, I just spent two hours removing crap from her computer that had gotten mired down in the garbage. Holy hell |

My TIVO has learned the type of movies I like and records them automatically. It puts them in a suggested movies folder. I check out what is in it every few weeks. It recorded Bullit. I had not seen that in many long years. It was released in 1968. It is just cool to see all the 1957 Chevys and 40s Fords in traffic. The hospitals were still using glass bottles for IVs and the heart monitor is a old analog oscilloscope and a dial gauge for the heart rate. Zero computers of course.
Folks at the airport walk in smoking and no security at all. The movie is cool and of course the car chase is the best. |
Sadly, no roast waiting for us at Mom's. We went to a local diner instead. Really good chicken fried steak.
I completed the list of things she wanted me to do for her and my son made $5 for vacuuming her floors. My son was determined to catch a pike or sturgeon in Lake Huron so he brought his fishing stick but didn't get a bite. |
