It is gonna be a late breakfast!

Drive safe.

flipper35 11-04-2015 09:35 AM

I thought the first meal of the day was breakfast regardless of the time.

GH85Carrera 11-04-2015 09:48 AM

My dad talked about a flight mission were everywhere they landed the locals were in the middle of breakfast. He ate like 5 breakfasts in the row because that was all they was available at the flight line. They were making long hauls in the C-124 he was flying and every meal was another breakfast.

One other string he talked about was back in the 1960s when we lived in Hawaii his parents came to visit just a week before Thanksgiving and he had a mission to fly a C-47 to Japan. We had our family Thanksgiving early so he could be a part of it. He then flew to Japan and it was Thanksgiving there so the had more turkey and dressing at the officers club. They then flew back to Hawaii and we were having Thanksgiving again with my friends. As a kid I thought it was wonderful to have all that turkey but dad was sick of it.

Oh boy, another virus got thru Microsloth's 365 anti-virus. Thinking they do that on purpose to make money for other companies out there offering anti-spam and anti-virus for 365.

GH85Carrera 11-04-2015 11:10 AM

I have often wondered if the big anti virus companies don't hire the virus writers and hackers just to keep demand up for the anti-virus and security programs.

RKDinOKC 11-04-2015 11:34 AM

The first known public virus was created by Microsoft (supposedly they were the biggest complainers about piracy at the time) and released in Venezuela to try to stop software piracy. Back then (microsoft word was version 3) if you bought a computer in Venezuela you could get any software you wanted installed for free because they did not recognize US copyright laws. Venezuela was the largest source of license cracked software. The name of the virus was Scores because it would edit the scores in all of the then popular games. I came hacked into pirated software and added itself to other program files. It was difficult to get rid of once contracted. And yes, it reduced the amount of software piracy for a while.

That is the reason why first Quark, then Microsoft, then Adobe started with the super long license strings. Quark was also the first to have the software check on the local network to see if any copies with the same serial number was running. Then they were the first to have their software check your license with their servers while booting. Quark was the king of publishing until they drug their feet updating there software to run on OSX. They are still the best at producing color separations for printing of offset presses.

I recently had a copy of Adobe Photoshop C3 stop running because it said my software had expired and was no longer supportedl Everything seems to be headed for forcing subscription based usage.

The newest version of Mac OSX, El Capitain, will only install and run software that is specifically approved and certified by Apple. It insures there is nothing to harm your system and the software is checked to make sure it is exactly what is certified so nothing can be hacked into it. One of the reasons by Mac users rarely run antivirus software. I've always said it is possible to hack a mac, BUT if you are smart enough to actually do it, you are making more than enough money doing something else that you don't want to waste your time.

Type to you later, I'm finally on the road.

GH85Carrera 11-04-2015 12:01 PM

Dude, really really LATE for breakfast.

flipper35 11-04-2015 12:42 PM

Unless he drives really slow. Then he will be there in time for breakfast tomorrow.

porsche4life 11-04-2015 12:44 PM

He drives fast. He might spin the earth backwards and still make breakfast today! ;)

Afternoon gents. Got some sinus crap bugging me and making feel like crap today. On top of that its cold and rainy. I don't think I'll stray too far from the house!

Evening Y'all
Well we had a 2.6 earthquake this morning, nothing much and certainly nothing for some folk but we are stable here on the east coast so it was a novel start to the day

GH85Carrera 11-04-2015 08:02 PM

2.6 earthquakes are usually just noisy and very little shaking to feel. We have had a few that just sound like a very large truck is driving down the street.

porsche4life 11-04-2015 08:11 PM

We had a 4.0 out here the other day. The way everyone freaked out, you would have thought the world was ending!
