Morning all

Work part of the day disappeared quickly, unfortunately so did the not work part of the day - golf this arvo, then dinner at the pub with the missus, then off to the local amateur theatre for a production of Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein.

I'm now all tuckered out and ready for the fart sack.

I'm hoping the weekend goes slowly but I don't like my chances

I must be a young whipper snapper too. I was up until 3:30am prepping for Jacob's part last Friday and was up until 3:00 the other morning fixing some computer stuff as that is when I had the time to do it. That stuff I don't mind.

Today we got an update (we have automatic update off, but that is just a minor irritation for MS some days) and it corrupted the Exchange database. Microsoft dudes, there is a reason we have automatic updates off. Keep you mitts off my stuff.

That said, it has been a long day and I am ready to go home now.

Got home at 6:30 am today. Been on phone with Apple from 6:45 to 8:45. Laptop and phone would join my wifi, but could not get on internet. Started at cable modem and worked back to computer and phone themselves. Turned out that the ISP at my friends house has some sort of proxy setting it adds that messes things up if you try to get on the network anywhere else. Friend was complaining that his iPhone was having problems with networks at offices, restaurants, etc that he visits. His wife was complaining about same thing with the laptop she has. They need to setup Home and Away network locations on their computers and make sure they select soecific networks on their iPhones and not just join any wifi.

We just went for a few hour walk on the tow path in the C&O Canal National Park. Fall is nearly over with around here. Even though it was in the 50s, that NW wind & gusts were c-c-cold.

Phew.

I played electrician and plumber. The faucet in the back yard was dripping so it was time for s new seal. Easy job to do once I had the new seal. I went to the local Westlake hardware and after I found the right seal I was standing in line holding the shaft of the faucet and some other dude walked in looking puzzled with the shaft of a outdoor water faucet in in hand. I held mine up and said that looks familiar. He came over and took a picture of my part and said thanks. It fixed my leak. Then I got to play with the toilet. Golly it was fun.

I had to replace one ground fault outlet. Several other projects got finished as well.

My bathroom and outdoors outlets are not ground fault, but the circuit breaker is. Found the outdoor outlets won't let me run 2 ice cream freezers at the same time, especially once the ice cream starts firming up.

I've got both an outdoor and an indoor faucet that needs seals. Couldn't find one for the kitchen sink so called a plumber and he made one. Probably time to replace the kitchen faucet now. It's 20 years old, leaks for the third time, and only originally installed that model so my handicapped brother could operate it so he could make himself coffee.
