Say they are back up to speed since they hired a new mechanic.

I am registered for Porsche Parade.

Don't come right now.....it's still snowing:D
Guess I'll need to figure out how to register.

GH85Carrera 04-04-2016 02:05 PM

Just go to PCA.org and look for Parade registration.

pete3799 04-04-2016 02:56 PM

I got to the third page.........meals. Better wait till the boss gets home to fill the rest of this out.
What events should we sign up for? We've done a few TSD rally's .....never done an autocross. Don't have a helmet come to think of it. They have loaners? I don't have cooties.......promise.

Wow ....don't know where to start. They should have a rookie page.

I suspect you'll win the beer tasting event.

GH85Carrera 04-04-2016 03:16 PM

The last Parade "beer tasting" I attended was restricted to one small cup of three different BAD beers. I am not sure where they could find stuff so bad. For the price they charge I can buy a 6 pack of good fantastic local brew for much less and drink the entire beer not just a sip.

The autocross does not have loaners at any I have been at. Since my wife is coming and the autocross kills 1/2 a day or more we just go a driving tour. That likely has less appeal to someone like yourself since ya live there.

The rally is just not something we enjoy. We have done the rally and just go for the drive. It was great in Portland but sucked donkey balls in Sacramento. They had us driving around in industrial areas to make the directions harder. If you like arguing with your navigator it is perfect. We prefer a nice scenic drive.

Pete, how is beer sold in VT? At the gas station, grocery store, liquor store or the beer store like in PA? I will need a source of bottled micro brew near the resort. Any suggestions? I always go for a local micro brew when possible.

Right now I am signed up for just one guided tour to the lake. The rest of the days are open for self guided tours. Which of those are the most interesting. We can't care less about a winery tour. Interesting places are our deal. My wife is looking for a top notch antique store, do you know any?

pete3799 04-04-2016 05:05 PM

Beer can be bought anywhere. Most stores should have a good assortment of local brews.
I think I read that Vermont is number 1 (or close to it) for micro breweries.

You'll enjoy the islands tour. We can do the capital tour, VT history museum, and the granite industry tour along with some fun roads between. Stop at the house and then head for N.H. and Maine or whatever.

Were you going to try and hit all the New England states on the way up or on the way back?

I'm sure my wife will know of some antique shops to visit.

So, how far did Jim make it today?

Jim Richards 04-04-2016 06:45 PM

Conway, AR. Can we meet with you guys for lunch? If so, when and where?

pete3799 04-04-2016 07:18 PM

650-660 miles.....not bad for an old retired desk jockey.:D

Sure. Lunch sounds great. One place is just off of I-44 and that gets you right back to I-40. The name of the place is Pearl's. They have great Cajun food. I can text you the address if that sounds good.

GH85Carrera 04-04-2016 08:15 PM

The address is:
5641 N Classen Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118

Punch it in to the GPS and let's us know when!

GH85Carrera 04-04-2016 08:25 PM

Jim, make sure your wife carries some rocks in her pockets. We are gonna have a windy and warm. 25 to 45 mph winds and 85 degrees.

RKDinOKC 04-04-2016 08:48 PM

I am Mr Flexibility time wise and got the pepper wagon back. Just gimme a call. Should take under 15 minutes to get there.

They got a big parking lot so parking with the hauler shouldn't be a problem.

Jim Richards 04-05-2016 03:11 AM

Pearls sounds good. Is noon OK?

Hahaha, my wife is good to travel with, so time flies by. I think we need to take it easy...enjoy life...stop and smell the wheel bearings.

Went to a strip club for the first time on my life last night. Truthfully, it was a band night and the "girls" we're not nude, so as to attract a wider audience, but they still danced as the bands played and one near me did let her top "slide" a few times. I don't get the allure. Watched one stripper grab some dude's head with her legs and shove his head into her hoohaa. Clothes or not, doesn't do anything for me, in fact, kinda grosses me out to think that on other nights, she ain't wearing anything and doing the same thing with multiple guys heads.

On the other hand, I've never had so many "women" come up to me in one night... Only to ask if I wanted to party in the back room - which means tossing a lot of cash around and then some. Meh, not for me. Bands were good.

ckelly78z 04-05-2016 03:46 AM

^^^^^ I've never been to a strip club either, just don't need the temptation in my life, and can't really see the alure as well.

That is great. I can be there in 10 minutes or so. One reason I thought of it was a place to park with a trailer. What do you do with the attack schnauzer?

Jim Richards 04-05-2016 04:35 AM

I looked at Pearls using street view and it looks like there's not much shade in the parking lot. I'm thinking about keeping the car running w/ AC on, and locked so it doesn't walk off on us.

GH85Carrera 04-05-2016 05:27 AM

Well Pearl's neighbors are real quiet! (It is a cemetery where many of my family members buried) but they don't have much shade as yet.
