Our guest figured he might want to co to cars and coffee at the local mall. So I got up at 6:00 AM on a Saturday so we could get to car and coffee by 7:15. It was wonderful weather and as usual the parking lot was packed. It is amazing to see a full parking lot at the mall early on a Saturday. Lots of cool cars and lots of very ordinary cars.

I remember getting up at 540 to make it there by 7. Too much work! Still haven't gone to the event out here, it's supposed to be insane.

Morning.

My daughter had a schoolmate stay the night. Her dad is a police officer in a nearby township. I find it difficult NOT to ask him cop questions when he's around.

We are off to lunch with the MIL and then I'm going to fix the van door hinge. Tomorrow we are off to my hometown for lunch with my Mom and family for Momma's Day.

Yes, I already have a card for her and my wife.

My BIL is home from the hospital and doing well.

I'd have to set an alarm clock to be able to make it to cars & coffee. I just can't see myself doing such a blasphemous thing so early into my retirement.

Wayne, I'd ask him car questions. Like about how his cruiser handles, any good chases, etc.

He's a car guy so we have that in common as well as having daughters of the same age.

I'm thinking a ride along would be pretty cool. They back up the Flint dept. quite often so it might be REALLY interesting.

Got the van slider door roller replaced. It wasn't horrible to do. I had to have wifey assist in getting the cables reattached.

I put tape along the panel to avoid scratching the paint but did anyway. Argh.

I wet sanded the scratch and buffed it out. Its there but you have to really look for it.

The door works perfectly now. The old rollers were shot. One of the plastic bearings was gone.

Been real busy today. Been working an a web site for a friend that details cars. He texted me that he saw the company truck at cars and coffee this morning. Texted my nephew to see if he knew who took it. He said he did and it was fun, then sent me this pic. Nephew only lives a mile from where they hold cars and coffee.

It's a 48 Ford F1. same year as the company was founded. The only thing stock on it is the body. Everything else is restomoded. Think the motor is a Ford Cobrajet crate motor. The front frame/suspension/steering is out of a Dodge K car. Bunch of gear heads at the company did all the work on it in their spare time. Including the paint and bodywork.

Looks like it would be difficult to keep that grill on the patio, let alone keep steaks on it.

Is it considered animal cruelty when you shove beer cans up the arse of a chook?

Sitting outside monitoring smoker with 2 8lb pork butts. Right about 250 degrees now, just need to keep it there until late afternoon.
