All of the muzzle loader stuff was inherited from my father in law when he died so there is a sentimental reason for them.
Everything else we shoot. I did have an offer on our 514 but I declined that. Our 6 year old wanted to buy it so it could be just his. |
Since I was 13 years younger than the next sibling I was pretty much an only kid when it came to playing with the real guns. And he was in the service by the time I went to kindergarten. My Dad was a fisherman not a hunter. My earliest memory of guns was sitting in lawn chairs in my grandma's yard with a cousin, Buddy, 13 years older as well. We each had a BB gun and were plinking the cicadas out of the trees when they started making noise. Think I remember it because his long haired terrier, Whiskers would fetch them to us as they fell out of the trees. Whiskers would bring it to whomever shot it! Later I thought it was kind of weird that people had specific breeds of dogs for bird hunting and retrieving.
My Mom had two sisters and each had a boy the same age as my next oldest brother. The three went hunting/fishing/camping/etc together all the time. They pretty much stopped the overnight camping part after their albino sasquatch encounter. |

Our male dachshund LOVES cicadas. He thinks they are dog treats. This summer as they were first hatching he was getting a lot of them. When they start to die off he will get more.

Is it a project fixer upper or is it ready to sail? |
Congrats Jim. I think.
We hunt, fish, hike, outdoorsy stuff as well as LAN paries and such. We are weird that way. |
Holey cat buckets! Company made a profit this month and wasn't expecting to for several more months. The board members decided that since those that are still with the company have worked so hard to make the company come back to profitability since the oil business crunch they are distributing the profit equally to each employee as a bonus. Wow!f It's not a huge amount but it is still a pretty magnanimous gesture.

How big are the holes? Just breathing holes or are they for something else? That is nice they are making money. |
Like the cone of shame maybe but for hairballs?

As far as I know there are two types of cat buckts...

If you rolled your window down and blipped the throttle at almost every underpass she will eventually stop hitting you and just roll her eyes.

I would bet money that less than one tenth of one percent of the time I have driven my 911 is with the windows down and sunroof back. Even in Monterey or San Diego. It is just rare for me. |

That sounds like the definition of a boat. A big hole in the water to throw money into. Wait, that is also how to define a great toy. ;)

Captain Jim.....has a nice ring to it.
