All of the muzzle loader stuff was inherited from my father in law when he died so there is a sentimental reason for them.

Everything else we shoot. I did have an offer on our 514 but I declined that. Our 6 year old wanted to buy it so it could be just his.

Since I was 13 years younger than the next sibling I was pretty much an only kid when it came to playing with the real guns. And he was in the service by the time I went to kindergarten. My Dad was a fisherman not a hunter. My earliest memory of guns was sitting in lawn chairs in my grandma's yard with a cousin, Buddy, 13 years older as well. We each had a BB gun and were plinking the cicadas out of the trees when they started making noise. Think I remember it because his long haired terrier, Whiskers would fetch them to us as they fell out of the trees. Whiskers would bring it to whomever shot it! Later I thought it was kind of weird that people had specific breeds of dogs for bird hunting and retrieving.

My Mom had two sisters and each had a boy the same age as my next oldest brother. The three went hunting/fishing/camping/etc together all the time. They pretty much stopped the overnight camping part after their albino sasquatch encounter.

Yep

Our male dachshund LOVES cicadas. He thinks they are dog treats. This summer as they were first hatching he was getting a lot of them. When they start to die off he will get more.

At least you did not get one that would have filled up that trailer!

Is it a project fixer upper or is it ready to sail?

flipper35 09-29-2016 12:56 PM

Congrats Jim. I think.

We hunt, fish, hike, outdoorsy stuff as well as LAN paries and such. We are weird that way.

Holey cat buckets! Company made a profit this month and wasn't expecting to for several more months. The board members decided that since those that are still with the company have worked so hard to make the company come back to profitability since the oil business crunch they are distributing the profit equally to each employee as a bonus. Wow!f It's not a huge amount but it is still a pretty magnanimous gesture.

What is the world is a cat bucket?

How big are the holes?

Just breathing holes or are they for something else?

That is nice they are making money.

flipper35 09-29-2016 01:02 PM

Like the cone of shame maybe but for hairballs?

RKDinOKC 09-29-2016 01:02 PM

As far as I know there are two types of cat buckts...

Not really sure what cat buckets had to do with giving a bonus. But pretty unusual for a company to share the only profits so far this year with all the employees equally.

I blipped the throttle to enjoy the sound and my wife jumped like something bad happened, she looked at me and saw a silly grin and then she hit me.

If you rolled your window down and blipped the throttle at almost every underpass she will eventually stop hitting you and just roll her eyes.

Porsche-poor 09-29-2016 02:39 PM

Tunnels are the best!!!!!!

RKDinOKC 09-29-2016 03:58 PM

Parking garages are pretty fun too!!!

Especially with a V8

I would bet money that less than one tenth of one percent of the time I have driven my 911 is with the windows down and sunroof back. Even in Monterey or San Diego. It is just rare for me.

It's ready to sail, but I'm having the boatyard do some work because I just can't leave well enough alone. I'm having them put on fresh bottom paint, replace all the lines and cables in the mast, replace the propeller with a folding propeller (faster, less chance of snagging seaweed), and install an instrument package I recently purchased. So, I have to wait on the yard to do the work. I feel like Richard already. ;)

GH85Carrera 09-29-2016 05:07 PM

That sounds like the definition of a boat. A big hole in the water to throw money into. Wait, that is also how to define a great toy. ;)

pete3799 09-29-2016 05:11 PM

Captain Jim.....has a nice ring to it.
Let me guess....you're going to sail it on Saturdays?

Jim Richards 09-29-2016 05:16 PM

Yep.
