Brent, that really sucks for your friend. Usually engines don't grenade for no reason. It sounds like he was ignoring a problem or he had a low oil condition or overheating in the past.

When I was fighting with my 911 running issues I did stop to think what a first world problem it was. My toy was not running right but it was at home safe in my garage and the cost to buy some parts was in no way going to affect my lifestyle or choices on which restaurant I am going to to visit or other gizmo I want to buy. I have no debt so it was just something else wanted to spend my money on. I am a lucky man.

I cleaned the house today and made appointments for puppy and myself. As I was looking through my discharge papers I noticed that the doc had marked the box "no driving". Oops. I drove myself home last night. I called his office and he said he forgot that I DIDN'T have surgery so that wouldn't apply. I was on the general surgery floor so that makes sense.

Mr. Puppy was chipped when we got him so I registered him under our/his name and got the lifetime membership. The chip would explain the extra performance he seems to have sometimes. :D

Later dudes, I have to go pick up my son.

So you got a Steve Wong chip!

We had both of our dogs chipped. I think the chips used now are more universal. For a while it was a VS or Betamax battle. How stupid is it when you have to get two chips for the pets to be sure.

Saturn Ion with 250k miles. Sludge maybe, but he has had coolant issues in the past.

Do you think he could afford to have a better car? Obviously, you probably don't know his financial situation but more reliable cars are out there. Does he work on his own cars to keep them up with that many miles?

flipper35 10-20-2016 12:31 PM

I think he is too cheap to have a nicer car, though he has no choice now. He used to fly AH-1 gunships so he should understand maintenance, but some of those guys don't. Then again, he has 4 kids in college right now.

When I had the BMW 325 got backed into in a convenience store parking lot.
Honked and yelled and the guy kept backing until crunch.
Asked him why he didn't stop. He said he though I was honking at someone else.
He was the only one in the entire parking lot moving.
Turned out he was in a relatives car and this was the 3rd wreck he had had in 2 weeks.
I told him to start taking the bus.

Luckily his insurance paid to fix my car.

Hey the great thing about a colonoscopy is after the procedure the doctor comes in and explains that they pumped in gas to make it easier for them to look around. And then he says the magic words "be sure to fart as much and as often as possible" and he does NOT put a time limit on that order! So I am still under doctors orders to let em rip!

Porsche-poor 10-20-2016 02:11 PM

you can stop now!!!!!!

RKDinOKC 10-20-2016 02:37 PM

The doc told me the system made a video of what the camera sees. I asked him if I could get a copy. He said no, it's too big. Said I could bring however big a hard drive needed. Admitted he didn't know how to find the video data file in the system they were using let alone how make a copy or hook a hard drive up to it. Told him I wanted it for proof that I wasn't full of it. They gave me a polaroid of the camera display (won't post it cause I can't find it).

Haven't heard from my Brother Bob for 2 weeks. Been trying to call and text for 3 days. His phone is going straight to voice mails and texts are undelivered. Think that means his phone is off, or the battery is dead. Since it has been 3 days called his local police to go check on him. He is 73 has had 2 hear attacks and bypass surgery.

Police just now called back. He was home and hasn't paid is phone bill.

Porsche-poor 10-20-2016 03:00 PM

Hey, you are not my doctor! I ain't gonna listen to non professional advice! I might blow up and die!!!

Porsche-poor 10-20-2016 03:13 PM

ok ok just get a pop off valve installed incase you backfire with out warning.

GH85Carrera 10-20-2016 03:33 PM

I have a built in relief valve that works just fine. I will not need a pop off valve. I don't let the pressure build up much.

Porsche-poor 10-20-2016 03:40 PM

good plan that!
