At 72°F today was a great day for outdoor dining. Especially for January!

My eye surgery is rescheduled for this Thursday. I am ready. Since my eye started hemorrhaging more a week ago last Wednesday it has started pooling blood in the bottom of my eye. That means if I tilt my head back a black blob oozes down from the top of my vision. Doc told me to sleep with my head up so the blood would pool and stay pooled at the bottom. Glad my Lazy-Boy is comfy.
Sure hope they can stop the bleeding and without reducing my vision too much. |

Well, waiting to hear info on my niece's boy Gage that has been mowing my lawn for the past two years. They found Lymphoma. Found it very early which usually means it is treatable. Waiting to hear what the prognosis is from the oncologist.

I think this time will be different for the GMs. I don't want to spoil it for Glen but the wheels they used look pretty sweet.
They keep teasing that Aaron leaves during this season. I hope they get your eye figured out soon Richard. |
Went to Kodi and the episode of Fast and Loud for 1/30/2017 was about making the Dart a 1/8th mile car and beating a Charger. They both had Hellcat motors. The Charger had nitrous, the Dart ran E53. Lightened the Dart and put a 2 speed auto in it. Think that was last weeks because the episode description mentioned the Camino.

Good Morning.
Why is it good...because it's NOT Monday! |
Good no longer Monday day!
Yesterday morning my co-worked figured it was gonna be mid 70s for the high so he would ride his motorcycle to work. He made it 6 blocks before he gave up from the cold. It has been super low humidity and at night it drops to near freezing and warms up nicely in the daytime. It has been desert dry, 15% humidity. Good luck with the eye surgery Richard. |
Morning all. Richard wish I lived closer to help with travel for your surgery. I hope it goes well.
|
Thanks, my brother is taking me. The Uber driver also has to stay during the surgery and we gotta be there two hours before they start. The surgery center is a whole 4 miles away. Last time I don't remember waking up, going to the car, or the drive home.

You got the good drugs then.
|
Glen, they are closing the Cash Savers on the 22nd.

All they give me for pain is eye drops.
Doc says there aren't any nerves in the eye. Sure stings when they are doing the laser on my retina. Do have some T3 and Hydrocodone around that sure helps when I get a shot in the eye. My Primary keeps them open from my foot thing because I'm not abusing them and it's always good the have more than over the counter when hurting somewhere. Also have a box of script strenght lidocaine patches if I need a local. Sometimes I think a Lidocaine pirate eye patch would make me feel better. Maybe if they weren't sticky. |
ask the doc for sure but I don't think the white has any nerves but the rest of the eye does.
|
I know it sure puts up a fuss when I get just a little scratch. He also uses a LOT of deadening drops before it sticks a needle in the white part. And it still hurts while he is doing it.

It looked bad last week when we were there. Lots of holes on the shelves. What a pain. Now we will have to drive even further to get groceries. |
Next closest is Walmart Neighborhood Market on 2nd just west of Bryant. 4 whole miles! Or the Walmart Supercenter on I-35 or Crest both 5 miles. Walmart Supercenter is the least traffic getting to it, but once you get there EGADS what a crowd. Even a 2 am.
Checked the online groceries. They only chare 3 or 4 buck for delivery, but are almost a dollar an item more expensive. Might have to see if one of those places you order dog supplies from is any cheaper for dog food and treats. Just hate to see all the non-big box grocery stores closing. |
I don't do Wal Mart. Not an option for me. I am afraid someone will take my picture and post it on the Walmartian sites.
Crest is a long way off but even with a decent crowd, it is FAST to check out because they actually have humans working at the registers. I gave up on the Super Target because it takes 15 minutes to check out. One check out person, 39 registers closed and all the self serve units are busy with a long line. The natural grocery store at 33rd and Blvd is a DUMP. I went looking for some fruit and all they had was moldy grapes and over ripe bananas. |
Me either. Hate the place!!!!

Don't like Walmart. The often don't have the one thing I am looking for.
Crest is better than Wally's Discount Junk Food. But not by a lot. You have to hike to your car which I don't mind until the weather sucks. The one thing I like about Targé is you can check if they have stuff at the store online, and if they don't you can order it and have it delivered to the store. Does make the checkout longer because you have to get it from customer service. It was a great way to get the case of canned Mangos I used to make chip juice. Wish there was a grocery store here like I went to in Atlanta once. It was called Harry's. It had Valet parking. A coffee shop and a wall rack with current newspapers from all over the world. The store was not huge, but had the best selection I ever saw. There was only one row of each item on the shelves. The meat department only had a small display case and 3 butchers that would cut, slice or grind whatever you wanted. The prices were competitive and they had a concierge service if they did not have something you wanted. It was amazing. I don't know how they kept the shelves stocked. Did not see anyone stocking the shelves, but they were all topped up with the one row per item. Never seen anything like it before or since. It was the first grocery store I ever saw with rotisserie chickens. We got one and the butcher pulled it fresh off the rotisserie and wrapped it for us. By the time we got it home it was still hot a juicy. Not like that stuff sitting under the heat lamps. |
