Good Tuesday morning, we survived Monday.

Mrs Carrera turned 500 miles on the Macan as she pulled in the garage yesterday. Not exactly burning up the roadway.

They are rebuilding the entire intersection close to my house. It has been a mess for a few months. Today they are closing the north south street completely for some period. They did not say if it was going to be an hour or a week. We will see.

Goodnight all :D

GH85Carrera 04-11-2017 06:28 AM

Night Jeff.

We have a client that pays for us to fly projects for him and we set the project up in a program that is stupid expensive. He has the same software and he can do the mapping himself. He works for a large corporation that is owned by a even bigger corporation with thousands of employees across the country. He has to use a computer that is rather slow. Viewing it in 3D stereo the screen refresh rate when panning from stereo model to model is slow. On our system it is almost instant. That is the advantage of three video cards and a huge amount of RAM.

He came up here to show us some issues he was having and of course it is not an issue for our system. We feel sorry for him having to suffer through the painful slow refresh rate. Not much we can do for him.

We can skate then!

April of 1973 was a blast. We had drifts from that blizzard 10-12 feet tall to make forts in!

pete3799 04-11-2017 11:55 AM

81* right now..... snow is disappearing like magic.

Jim Richards 04-11-2017 12:25 PM

It's all gone here, too, Pete. ;)

Brent, I remember building snow forts/igloos out of those massive snow drifts when I was a kid. I also remember shoveling them out of the driveway as a teenager.

Oh boy. Started a phishing campaign the week. Sends an email that says we have had a system problem and they need to follow a link and change their password. It is randomly sending to everyone over a week. So far it has sent to 150 or half our users and 40 have clicked the link in the bogus email and tried to change their password entering their current email and password first, yeow. The email and web page for changing password does not look like anything from or in our company. The names are similar, but spelled dfferently and all the addresses including the link to change password the domain spelled different than ours. It's part of a security awareness testing I am managing.

Had a long talk with VP over IT today. Wants me implementing and managing the email security awareness training instead of our training dept. They have had a year and haven't done anything. Also wants me to start taking on the operator tasks on our AS400 (he is the only one doing it now).

VP also told me a certain woman in HR has started complaining about getting sexually explicit spam. Told him we had that problem when we first started using the Barracuda spam filter and people just forwarded the explicit emails to me and I updated the content filters. We haven't had the issue with the Exchange Online filters until this week. None of the current HR staff were here back when the Barracuda was being trained. Wonder what she will think when she is asked to forward that kind of stuff to ME to block it.

(Pic for old times sake, not sure the missus would approve me posting hot women pitchers anymore...)

GH85Carrera 04-12-2017 06:27 AM

Those are good some humps there.

I noticed Apple has an update. One of the new features is:

Cricket sports scores and statistics for Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council

Wow. That is a big improvement. ;)

Geronimo '74 04-12-2017 06:44 AM

Not really a feature I was missing either.

What's next? Netflix for Bollywood blockbusters?

morning all. back from a few days of long hours.

flipper35 04-12-2017 09:19 AM

Richard, you using KnowBe4?

RKDinOKC 04-12-2017 10:36 AM

Yes, using KnowBe4. But looks like using on-site LMS.

Gotta pay back Mitnick for getting caught LOL They are pretty cheap compared to everyone else.
I wanted to go with Mimecast. Not much more $$ and they filter mail editing and using real attacks to train users.
They also filter all web surfing as well doing the same thing, reconstructing bad web sites to training users real time.

Found someone had recently turned off the sensitive words filter. Only 4 people including myself have that access.

Jim Richards 04-12-2017 10:40 AM

Are you IT guys speaking in tongues again? :p
