How do I clean a magnesium engine case at home on the cheap? I know soda blasting will work, but I don't have one of those machines siting around...

My only suggestion is probably not legal there and you wouldn't want to use it in a confined space.....
Just pony up for a bead blast. |

Dave- do you have an air compressor in the garage? If so, I'll come up and we will rig up a soda blaster- I can make from from some common household items, macguyver style...

Just a late Sunday afternoon bump from page TWO!
The weather was amazing today It was something like 76 degrees today just 4 degrees below the record. The bad news is that winter is coming. It is supposed to be around 20 degrees on Thanksgiving morning. I am pondering what project to come up with for the long 4 day weekend. Should it be an El Camino project or a Porsche Project. The advantage of 25+ year old high mileage cars, there is always something to do.

 My uncle with a prize he recovered at work. He is a firefighter at what was Clinton-Sherman NAS during WWII. Then it was Clinton-Sherman AFB through the '70s. Now they keep a fire dept there so the AF can use the LONG runway for practice. This 250lb concrete filled Dummy bomb was found in an old rubbage heap. Xpost from the random pics. Thought you guys would find it cool. |
