You could just shave your head, that eliminates hair pulling.

80,085 was a lot of miles back in the 1950s and early 1960s, but not anymore. I do remember people bragging that they had an engine make it for 100,000 miles. Now owners are pissed if they can't get 300,000 miles on an engine.

Isn't the next milestone after 80085, 5318008 ?

Heck of a birthday today.

Started by getting my house appraised.
Then took Pepper to the groomer.
Then got taken to lunch by Brother and Nephew.
Then Picked Pepper up from the Vet next door to the groomer.
Got home around 3pm and had two jobs my boss emailed to me asking me to take care of on my day off.
Just got finished with those. It's almost 4pm!

My brother gave me a card at lunch.
It had a big hole thru the middle of the card.
It said it was a birthday quiz, answer correctly and win $100.
True or False the card has a big hole in it.

I said false, it's got two as I opened the card.
On the inside it said the answer is Falsel it has two. pointing to the hole in the front page and the hole in the back page.
My brother whipped a crisp $100 bill out of his shirt pocket and handed it to me.
He wouldn't even let me pay for lunch with it.
Said he'd given that card to 2 of his friends and still had the $100.

There is a local dog food manufacturing plant a few miles west of me. We are far enough away we never smell it here. The NAPA parts store I go to very close to it. The area sometimes reeks of dry dog food. It used to be a Purina but now it is some Cargill plant making who knows what brand.

I bet they have a few dog food chutes.

I love that show "How it's made" and seeing how some parts or thinks we never think about is engineered, designed and built. Likely not so much fun to do as watch.

Friend from HS works for Levis. He designed a machine that makes Levis Jeans that is used in London. He has to go there about every other month. I have no idea why he has to keep going. Maybe he has to refill the thread bobbins?

WEEEE

Something fun for a change. We have our first autocross is close to a year. We lost the fantastic track that we used for almost 20 years due to politics. Now we a re running at the Edmond Fire training site. They have a large skid pad area of all concrete so we can set up a 1st and 2nd gear track. Not near as nice as the Sheriffs track, but it is something. It has been so long I had to go through my mental list of stuff to bring and tire pressure checks just to get it all. I almost forgot my helmet.

Off to the track to get some fresh rubber showing on the tires. Gotta scrape off that old dried crust of rubber that builds up on tires in just hours of exposure to air. ;)

My grandpa was in maintenance for the dog food plant in Clinton. They have lots of dog food chutes. ;).

Dang, that was fun. No really! Yea really. It was a blast. :D

We had the first autocross in about a year. The old track was just soooooo nice. This one is a large concrete pad. The good ol sea of cones. We managed to have a great time and the weather was dang near perfect. 64 degrees in the morning and a high of 83. A nice cool breeze with good friends and good fun. To make the weather any better would be 6 to 8 degrees cooler and some puffy white clouds to make some shadows. They suck big time for aerial photography but are great when we are outside in the sun.

We have real bathrooms with flush toilets and even an ice machine on site. They do have a nice facility. It is nice to see my tax dollars at work on a fire department training site that is done right. Nothing overblown but just done properly. Good job City of Edmond, OK.

This is one of the first times I have really had a chance to use my summer performance tires on a warm day and push them. They have a ton more grip than the old mud and snow rated tires that were several sizes smaller in width. Adding a lot of semi-sticky rubber really adds to cornering grip. I throw that out there in case you were wondering about it.

Pepper woke me up at 7am this morning saying "Good Morning." She didn't want out, she had plenty of food and water. She didn't even want a spot on the bed. After going to the restroom and getting a drink tried going back to bed but she wouldn't let me. So, now that I am up and around what is she doing? Went to sleep laying next to my computer chair. So...

Good Morning?

Jim Richards 09-10-2017 07:05 AM

Wakey, wakey. It's another beautiful Saturday morning. Although, for some strange reason many of you are calling it Sunday, whatever that is..

GH85Carrera 09-10-2017 08:43 AM

Burp.

Mrs Carrera decided we needed to go eat breakfast this morning to work up the energy to go to the grocery store and then wash her car. That is done and I am relaxing a bit and waiting for this afternoon for the shade to cover the driveway so I can wash the El Camino. I need to clean some sunscreen from the seats and interior where some race car driver guy got sunscreen on it.
I may work up the energy to do a oil change but I might work on the computer instead.
I bought a USB3 card that plugs into the motherboard and adds more USB3 to the back and I have a front port combo unit that adds about all the memory card formats and three USB3 and one USB3.1 port.

Made a fancy breakfast sammuch fer bruncheon on. Starts with a whole wheat bun slathered with chipotle aioli, ham and pepperoni crisped on the grill, shredded cheddar cheese, then two eggs cooked over easy in just a bit of lard. Put the bun top on and smash so the yokes break and soak up the bun top. Delicious!

GH85Carrera 09-10-2017 03:40 PM

Can you define a cluster f*ck?
How about this: We got a call from the folks that manufacture our aerial camera. Some very large company wants the entire state of Florida flown but will concentrate on the civilized parts first. They are hiring pilots and cameras as a package deal and all that is needed is get into Jacksonville asap as in tomorrow. They will pay all expenses and pay a nice weekly rate and provide an airplane to fly.
Now we have to figure out how to get there.

GH85Carrera 09-10-2017 04:34 PM

Well, took partner to airport. He is booked into Atlanta and a hotel room. Tomorrow to get to south Florida maybe. The journey begins.

RKDinOKC 09-10-2017 04:53 PM

Hope it works out
