Up until about 5 years ago I thought 2am was a reasonable bed time.

Sid, I only brought the electric SUV up fro Richard since he never drives much it would keep his gas from going stale and he likes SUVs.

I have always thought a small diesel to charge the battery when it gets low would be the best way. Run it full throttle to put more in than the drivetrain takes out and then shut off when full.

Oh, happy Saturday Jim and Jeff.

Good start of the week.

$3 hot meals brought me BBQ chicken drumstick, baked beans, steamed veggies, and a toffee brownie. Not bad.

Commute takes much longer than it should. Have to use a walker cause I still don't have good balance.

My hands, legs, and feet hurt from neuropathy. Took some gabapentin and it stopped the pain from the neuropathy, but brought back the symptoms of the stroke. Taking a long time for that gabapentin to wear off.

I am positive now that the symptoms from the gabapentin is what I went to the hospital for and they found the really small stroke.

Got to got get some more scans and monitoring Wednesday because the neurologist said the stroke was too small to cause the symptoms.

The symptoms are listed for gabapentin, vertigo, loss of balance, nausia, drowsiness.

We had some weird weather last night. Two separate storms, one going south and one going west met right over the city. Yesterday afternoon was high 90s and Savannah level humidity. Anyone from around here knew it was not a stable condition. The storms just brewed up, and started marching. They joined forces right over the metro area. One possible rotation weak tornado was going south west. That is almost illegal. 95% of all the storms move from the south west to the north east. A few will move just south or north, but almost never do they go from the northeast to the southwest, except last night. We received 2.25 inches of rain in 30 minutes.

It was enough of a storm for me to put my shoes on, and gather some of the bug out bag in preparation to head to the scaredy hole. We did not go down there, as the storm trackers and radar on the TV stations showed where the bad stuff was and we never even lost power for more than 1/2 a second.

Today it is 72 degrees and the high is forecast to be low 80s. I like it.

Morning all. that is some crazy weather.

Jim Richards 08-27-2019 07:29 AM

Yikes! That’s really wild.

Porsche-poor 08-27-2019 07:32 AM

my commute was interesting. A truck had flipped on its side an had taken out a tree not far from my house. Not some thing you see every day.

There were just straight line winds from the storms of up to 87 MPH right over the airport where we keep our airplane. Hopefully it was safe and dry in the hangar. We had some 60 mph gusts. It all just popped up and out of clear air, and was gone in a couple of hours.

I thought abnormal weather was normal for Oklahoma?

GH85Carrera 08-27-2019 08:57 AM

That type of storm is normal for May, not August. But a common phrase is "If you don't like the weather just wait a hour".

flipper35 08-27-2019 12:05 PM

So your normally abnormal weather was abnormally abnormal ?

GH85Carrera 08-27-2019 12:54 PM

It is just more calendar slippage. Today at 3:00 PM the temp is only 79 degrees, in August, in Oklahoma. That is weird!

We had a customer call us on Saturday to fly a project they wanted flown on Monday. We flew it on Monday, processed it Monday evening, finished it This morning, and sent it to them VIA FTP. I email an invoice, and they called and gave me a CC number. So in under 48 hours from the window of getting the go to fly it, we are done, and paid. I want that more often. Yea, I am a greedy bastage. It was a little 2 grand project overall, but wham bamm thank ya ma'am. Hot damn lets do it again.

Porsche-poor 08-27-2019 02:47 PM

you really need to work on your delivery times. I think you should up your game so that the plane is still hot when the clients gets the product...……………..Now where is that green font?

RKDinOKC 08-28-2019 05:00 AM

I was checking the computers in our main facility until 9:30pm when the TV guys said the major part of the storm had passed. Emailed my all okay report and it didn't get delivered because the power went out there as I sent the report. Backup generators did not come on. Power stayed out until 3pm yesterday. Don't ever remember a power outage effecting the facility for so long.

GH85Carrera 08-28-2019 05:32 AM

It sounds like the maintenance department does a lousy job on the backup generators.

More WONDERFUL calendar slippage. It is currently 66 degrees. I like it!

Porsche-poor 08-28-2019 06:58 AM

Morning all. Supposed to warmer here today.

GH85Carrera 08-28-2019 08:11 AM

Why is it that we can send a client a "bounding box" that shows precisely the area we will fly, and the area they will have in the delivered image, they don't seem to look at it? We always send a shape of the project as a Google Earth KMZ file. Just double click the few KB file, and Google Earth loads, and goes right to the area that will be delivered. A nice red line shows the area.

But two months later we get an email, do you have 200 feet more to the south of the the delivered area? I always want to ask, was that area inside the area you said was perfect?

Grumble grumble, dang customers. Most of the time we have some extra image area we can scab on to the project they asked for. The edges of the project don't have good stereo coverage, but it is an image, but it would have been a lot easier if the client just opened the file we sent and looked at it before we flew it, and processed it, and delivered it and invoiced it. Grumble grumble.

Porsche-poor 08-28-2019 09:00 AM

and you just know of course that if you started adding 200' to the "perfect" box they would want 400' next time.
