Looks as if it is shaping up to be a fine day here in the OKC.

Is usually cold and rainy around my burpday, and while it's very comfortable and temperate, there are huge cracks developing the my mostly clay lawn.

Yea, after a wet August it has been a dry September. The State Fair starts this week so the rain always comes for the fair.

My business partner is is Atlanta. Of course so is the the storm. He is supposed to have a flight out today to Melbourne. The price of the ticket was high but likely a lot cheaper than going to that other Melbourne much further south. The group he was supposed to meet up with is stuck in the storm further back and driving so likely is he gets to make the flight he will be at a an airport with no electricity. Of course that means no AC, no computers, and gas pumps and so on. The fudge cluster really gets started.

So they have an assessment to see if he needs their assistance or if he is too far gone for that particular facility.

I've noticed several Alzheimer's/Memory care places popping up around town. There have also been a lot of retirement facilities going up as well. IE appartments with cafeteria, hair saloon, game rooms, and laundry/ housekeeping services.They put a large one in behind the new Vet/Boarding place nearby. Wonder if they worked out a deal with the vets to let the patients have puppies.

Jim no they are needing pilots with camera systems. I am not a pilot and we only have the one camera system. He is still in Atlanta with the storm there now. He is stuck until tomorrow and the power just went out at the hotel. Hopefully he can get his flight out to Ft Myers tomorrow.

Assessment to see how much care he requires or if he is still able to be in independent mode.

I had to rescue my wife and her girlfriend after their kayaking outing. It seems the battery on our p/u truck died. Only 7+ years old. ;) After dropping them and their gear off at home, I was able to get a replacement battery and swapped it in.

And I bet you still have to cook dinner.

Nah. I'm so bad, I could even burn water.

Mysteriously, I can grill outdoors. Don't ask me to explain it. I have no idea how that works. ;)

Seriously considered a house when we were hunting for an accessible home. It had a rock wall in the Kitchen that was shared with the livingroom. There was a fireplace on the living room side. The kitchen side of the rock wall had a charcoal/gas grill.

Sure beat the house with the fireplace in the living room that was open thru to the master bedroom.

Real men can only cook when it involves open flames or danger of some kind. That is why the best chef's stoves are gas.

Or if they have to hunt or fish for the food.

Dad cooked on the grill and did the fish in the deep fryer. When we had trout Mom cooked it in a pan. Mom cooked all the other times unless she was out of town and Dad cooked dinners just like Mom made. We very very rarely went out to eat.

Most of the time growing up we kept our freezer full of crappie and sand bass, and we kept it stocked with sides of beef from an uncle's farm. The only things we got at the grocery were chickens and pork. Ham was fancy and rarely got that. Sandwich meat was baloney, left over chicken, or tuna and egg salad. Oh yeah, and bacon & tomato.

Always had a big garden and fruit trees. So lots of fresh, frozen, and canned fruits and veggies. Also had some wooden crates in the garage that was our root cellar.
