Damn iPhone, I never meant for me to have 20K. Stupid phone double posted... I delete one. So now it is not mine anymore...

Well Joie, you post makes as much sense as many of the post in this thread so welcome! Unless you are a spammer, then get lost.

After 3 days of cable TV issues they finally got it fixed, and it was all on their end. One of my "go to" channels is the Science Channel. They have a few good programs but unfortunately a lot of shows that have as much science as the Beverly Hillbillies but that is beside the point. It is on a channel they deemed to be a "switched digital" channel. That just means they can cram more bandwidth into the stream. Because it is switched digital as are many other channels I have to have a "tuning adapter" which the cable company provides. It is a Rube Goldberg setup but it is what it is. The story the technician told me was some genius at the headquarters changed a piece of equipment and all the tuning adapters in the metro area lost switched digital. They finally figured it out, and had to change the firmware and let the tuning adapters download and update to new firmware. It only took 3 days. I do get a $25 credit on my bill.

morning all. had a great conversation with my former boss about the hummer. Seems it needed to be delivered to another city about 4.5 hours away and he wanted one of us to deliver it, said he would fly us back. Told him we had billable work to get done, fly out one of his crew and we would pick them up at the airport and they could drive it back. He told me they were to busy. I asked him if he realized how stupid that sounded. He didn't get it so I explained how dropping billable work to take him the car was no different that him sending someone after it. DOH!!!!

He said he would take care of it. I thought so.

Good errr uuuuh, Afternoon.

Call me this morning and cancelled the 8:00am Meeting at The Office. Fell back asleep and woke up just-in-time to met Glen for Lunch.

Call Cox Cable and officially Cut the Cord Monday. Think I am being tested. My Apple TV 4th Gen, not 4K, would not update. Had to completely reset it twice before it would update. Now I have to re-install Kodi. Would be nice if the AppleTV would connect to my Mac Wireless instead of having to use USB to install Kodi. Won't even let me do the install using iTunes.

I guess as part of that digital thing Glen was posting about I had to go switch my cable box 3 months ago because it kept putting up a Contour logo saying channels were temporarily unavailable. Hadn't plugged in the new box in 3 months so figure I would just cut the cord. When I called the minimum I would have to pay per month to get ESPN2 to watch F1 next season was $45/mo. A bit much. Hope there is a cheaper option by next season. I am not paying $45/mo to watch F1! Everything else I can watch over the air (weather), AppleTV, or Kodi.

Couldn't sleep last night due to gut issues so watched all the Transformers movies in order. And it was over AppleTV's free Youtube app. It was free and I was up anyway, but would of rather slept.

I take it he's no rocket surgeon, eh?

RKDinOKC 11-08-2017 11:12 AM

Wouldn't know what to do with a hummer for a week. At best only good for around 5 minutes.

not sure the h3 would be good for you.

there ya go make some money off of it.

RKDinOKC 11-08-2017 12:18 PM

Maybe "pimp" is too strong a word. How about sublet, that seems more on the up and up, so to speak.

Porsche-poor 11-08-2017 12:20 PM

either way you will need to cash to foot the gas bill.

you forgot the gold chains from the 70's

flipper35 11-08-2017 02:34 PM

Well, not having seen the person I wasn't going to make that guess.

The H3 grill was close enough to Jeep that Jeep sued GM to make them change it, but Jeep lost that one. Sometimes GM does better than China when it comes to making look alike cars.

The Colorado wasn't a bad truck actually. The H3 just comes across as a cross dresser.

Porsche-poor 11-08-2017 02:52 PM

We placed bets about how many tanks of gas it will take to get it to him.

RKDinOKC 11-08-2017 06:52 PM

Vehicles are built with close to 300 mile gas tank capacity. Would say fill er up on the way out of town, and once again half-way there. Which isn't necessarily equal to the number of stops required. That is calculated depending on the driver's constitution and the number of convenience store frozen burritos and liters of tea/coffee/soda consumed before/during the trip.

GH85Carrera 11-09-2017 05:47 AM

When I got my El Camino back with 40,000 miles and 100% stock 200 miles was running on empty. 17 gallon tank and 12 mpg. When I converted to fuel injection I changed the tank to a 21 gallon tank. 300 miles was in reach. I still stop at 250 miles because that last 1/4 tank is enough to keep the fuel pump cool. 17 to 20 mpg with FI.
My 911 can go 500 miles on a road trip without refueling. 21 gallon tank and 28 MPG.

Happy over the hump day all

RKDinOKC 11-09-2017 06:48 AM

Usually make pit stops about every 200 miles. So that's like what... every 30 minutes?
Mostly to get out and walk around a bit, wash the windshield, top up the drinks and snacks, visit the facilities, etc.
Typically other travelers will comment and talk about the 928 as well. That always tops up the feel good too.
So, fill 'er up and do a fluid check to make it a full on complete pit stop.

Never have the fuel light come on while on a trip and on the Cayennes it becomes a nuisance at 70 miles.
