I'd be happy if I could figure out how to make windows 10 to do the auto-back up I set up. every update kills it. I have resorted to just dragging the directories and telling it to over-write the data.

I give out rewards to people that report those types of emails through KnowBe4.
A few years ago we got blacklisted because someone in IT that was not me opened a zip file from "Intuit" to check their payroll. I was like, really! I could see one of our housekeeping from the Philippines, but an IT guy with years of service! Then, our first phish attack test many on senior management failed and they laughed about it. Then I told them about real stories of people from other companies that clicked on real ones and what it cost and then they didn't laugh so much. |
there is a special place in hell for creators of such things.

Yes, shoveling coal for the furnace.

I was thinking in a chair in front of a computer and their arms are to short to reach the keyboard.
|
Or a picture of a naked Rosie O pops up every time they type.
|
that might cure them.

Tag, your it!
Sorry, programming the switches for the new phones today. Couldn't help it. Tagged, untagged, native... |
tag? I hate that game!
|
Isn't a skin tag where a nipple is trying to start growing someplace it's not meant to be?
|
that would definitely make you an "it".

While I was at lunch we got hit with another one. It is a Dynamics365 document link. Went to thousands of email addresses from one of our marketing peoples Outlook. She claims she never entered her password anywhere, microsoft tech support says that is the only way the emails were sent. All the header and envelope info points to an IBM cloud VPN in Dallas.
Just had anther supervisor that after reading the warning clicked on the link, logged in, AND downloaded the malware. The IT Director told him to reset his password and he would be fine. The next time he tried to log in, his computer had him reset his password again! Think the hackers just got his newest password! |
Spent all afternoon with Exchange online tech support.
ALL of the stuff he had me do and set were after the fact. Blocking the IPs, putting in a transport rule that keeps from opening the malicious links in Outlook. Since it takes Exchange online and all the Outlook clients so long to update it's all kinda like closing the gate after the horse bolted. Showed me how to block countries like Nigeria, but that really doesn't do much good. The last email we got was from a VPN saying they were in Dallas. |
Sounds like a nice way to deliver a key logger!
Have a good weekend all! Except Jim. He doesn't have weekends or weekdays or anything. Just days off. Have a good set of days Jim. |

The other project is for my wife, who asked me to build her a ladder so that she can use at the end of our boat slip to access her kayak. Currently, she uses my pickup truck to haul her kayak to the marina whenever she wants to go paddling. She wants to leave her kayak on our boat and then just slip it into the water when she wants to go out. The dock height above the water is a bit too much for her when she wants to get out of her boat and get up on the dock. Unfortunately, the solution has to be portable since we're not allowed to modify the docks/boat slips. So, I built her a boarding ladder that can be slipped into place and secured to one of the cleats that I tie our sailboat up to. She can remove it when she finishes paddling and store it on my sailboat. We need to test fit it later this afternoon. Hopefully it'll do the job for her...it's the only compelling reason for me to hang on to the pickup truck. I'm ready to loose the truck and get a better car to bomb around in, when I'm not cruising in the 964 garage queen. :D |
good morning
Trying to decide if I should bother renting a car since I am carless. |
Don't wait too long the rental places close on Sundays.

Got til 2pm today. Looks like at least $80 to have a very small car tll Tuesday. Trying to think if there is anywhere I need to go for $80. Usually I just go for groceries and gas to go for groceries. Think I can survive without going to the drive thru at Starbucks or McDonalds for a couple of days anyway. Was getting groceries when the clutch started making noise so cabinets and fridge gots foodstuffs.
Had a coupla doc appointments, but called and moved them out another couple of weeks (optimistic). |
