Wait! It doesn't cook dinner too!
|
No, that will be a new option when they come out with the AI version.
|
I'd insist on it doing the dishes.
|
The old CPU would get hot enough to at least reheat dinner.
|
Technically if it's makin the monies it's buyin. The rinsing and loading/unloading of the dishwasher is a little too manual for today's current computer tech. At least from what I've seen.

Windows is installing.
Another all new BIOS to figure out. I finally got the Raid 1 figured out and Windows only has a few million updates to do. |
The computer seems stable. That is good. I am doing a "burn-in" by making it run one of the projects I did Thursday on my regular computer. THis will tell me if and home much faster it is, and that it can handle the load.
Mrs. Carrera insisted I not work all day in my office and made me go dig holes again. This time it is just yet another change to the irrigation system in the flower beds. Fortunately the very humble and modest genius that looks a lot like George Clooney built the system did an excellent job and made it easy to modify. |
Weeeee That quick and fun.
The system is updated, finally. I hit a windows update error and searched on-line in lots of places. I tried several "fixes" and none would get past the error. One of the troubleshooters will pop up a virtual assistant. That did not help and it finally sent me to a Microsoft contact for help. Just 1.5 hours from the start to finish. The funniest part was the technician liked my computer and even said wow, he wants it. It has the 8th Generation i7 with 6 cores 12 threads, and 32 GB or RAM. He signed in with remote access and ran several processes, and he had to look up some further information. He finally get it to update and it is done. Whooo Hooo. |
Hope you got that new machine configuration and settings all ironed ironed out so future updates won't be problematic?
Help desk recently auto-installed newest on-line updated McAfee. Found were going to have to enter license key at each computer in person. Decided to revert back older original. Re-install of original is blocking all kinds of work related files and links it had no problems before or after the new version. One of those updates that converts the data file and is not backwards compatible. Now having to go thru and tweak each computer's settings. Seems like going ahead and entering the license keys would have taken less time. Always thought it was a wise practice to watch the on-line forums and check issues others were having before rolling out updates company wide. Even install a copy to check it out first. |
Well...Good Freakin Morning. It's Mutha Flippin Monday, like it or not.
|
Happy Monday. The sky is blue, the temps are gonna be nice, my computer is all updated and we have lots of projects in the pipeline. Now if we could just get them cheap bastages to pay the invoice in a little faster.
Back to work for me. That mean boss had me slaving away all weekend but I new have a computer the Microsoft Tech support guy was lusting after. I just hope it lives up to the hype from everyone about the 8th Gen Intel chips. |
morning all. Long weekend. Dad fell Thursday and broke his hip. Still in hospital and has not a clue as to why. Not good. Now to catch up on work as best I can before heading out to take care of things for dad.
|
Sorry to hear of your Dad's troubles. Hope he mends well and can get around soon.
|
David, that stinks. Hopefully he will mend quickly.
|
The bones are ready to go but his mind is now gone. I think the stress sent him around the bend.
|
If they used anesthetic to fix his hip, that probably is what sent him. Mom needed her knee replaced, but the docs wouldn't touch her for fear she would not be there when she woke up.

So sorry for your dad's troubles David. It it hard to deal with aging parents. BTDT.
Like most everyone I wish I had something to say, but there really is nothing. Hang in there. |
I've got to go in for some dental work this week. After that mini stroke am very apprehensive about it.
|
Morning all. I am off to a GIS day at the state capitol. Mostly a face to face with clients and potential clients. It should be interesting.
