The wind is causing my cottonwood to shed small limbs. Pepper loves to go chew on them and carry them around the yard like she killed it or something.
When we lived at the house with the orchard my first Golden, Penny used to help me pile up the limbs I trimmed off the fruit trees. When it came to breaking them down into smaller lengths and stuffing them into the trash can, she would help gnawing them into shorter pieces as well. She sure was a smart dog, I miss her. Penny would have put Glen out of business diggin holes for his boss's wife. Just had to point and say "dig" then "that's enough" when it was deep enough. And amazing enough the dirt was right beside the hole like you had dug it, and not scattered like you would expect a dog to do. Had what looked like a piece of concrete float up in our back yard. Had Pepper dig it up. Ended up having to help her because it was a huge 4 ft diameter chunk of concrete and what looked like the stub end of a pole used for a clothes line. Pulled it out of the hole with the lawn tractor. Didn't really know what to do with it, so...Had Penny dig the hole 3 ft deeper (she loved it) then pushed it back in the hole. Then Penny and I re-buried it. It took 30 years for it to float up maybe it will take another 30 before it shows up again. |
Oh boy, we get to take intruder alert training for work. What to do if someone come in shooting up the workplace. It even includes a gun training class we all have to attend. Wonder if it has to do with all the teachers running around OKC on strike?
And they are telling us it is required by OSHA! Does anyone remember why they call it "Going Postal?" That happened right here in Edmond OK. |
Nearly a 5 hour ordeal for me at the DMV. I was very nice to the lady that helped me. I could tell they all were working their asses off and looked beleaguered. And, in spite of the reaming my wallet took to bring the registration up to date, I just didn’t have the heart to b_tch about it to her. After all, I knew what I was in for when I negotiated the deal for the car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif

Spent that long waiting in the DMV in Austin with a friend. He had to jump thru several hoops because he let his driver's license expire then waited so long he had to retake all the tests and show them a burp certificate. He had to go thru a barrage of four people. One to show his identity, one for a written test, one for driving test, and one to pay and actually get license.
It was kind of interesting for the first 30 minutes. Then it was exhausting. After about an hour of us just sitting there I made the comment "At least they ought to make one of those monitors a TV." and got applauded. Too bad the monitors were each the queue for a different group. It was like an elevator or something, everyone was afraid to talk. |

A few years later, at the photo lab I worked at, there was a lady co-worker there in a nasty breakup with a real jerk partner. We were all a little taken aback by one of the yelling matches they had at our office. The boss said he was going to bring his pistol and keep it in his desk. I brought mine, and three other employees did as well. We were not going to be victims. Fortunately for us she moved to another state a few months later. |
Morning all. I think this office is a gun free zone but what they don't know wont hurt them..............
|
Am sure i've told you guys about bringing a shotgun in to my Supervisor's office. And even though it was unloaded, when I saw the look on his face when he looked up from his desk just had to ask for a raise.
|
I'm sure you got one.

It took 6 months of back and forth to get the Cobra registered in CA. It took 10 minutes when we moved back to WI.
Happy Thursday! |
Thursday? Rats I was hoping for Friday.
|
I’ve time-traveled ahead to Saturday.

Phew, it feels like Saturday here too.
The mean bosse's wife made me take my El Camino up the road to Lowe's to buy 24 big concrete blocks that are shaped with triangular edges. Very soon I will be digging a large hole for a Japanese Maple to plant in the back yard. Then I "get" to stack the blocks in a circle to make a retaining wall-tree-circle. It is already 74 degrees outside so we wanted to get it done before it got any hotter. The El Camino was a bit of a low rider but it is only 3 miles home from Lowe's. That place was packed. This weekend it will be nuts I suspect and I don't wanna go see. I should have pumped up the air bags, but it was not too bad. The trailer hitch did not scrape coming up the incline on the driveway since I did it at an angle. |
Actually did get a raise on my next paycheck. Found out later the supervisor thought it was funny that he could keep an owners brother from getting pay raises. My brother had told me I was on my own and not to expect any special treatment. That supervisor stopped blocking my pay raises after that. He was probably haunted by that shotgun leaning in the corner of his office all night. When I told my brother about it yesterday, he had never heard about the incident. There are a lot of petty kingdoms in management.

Morning all.
TGIF!!! Oh wait, yesterday was Saturday, hmmm.. I will just time travel back to Friday and have a do over on Saturday. Yea, that's the ticket! |
TGIF! or TGIO! Either way its time to relax in 8-9 hours that is.
|
Yup. Fridays are the days I get to blow of steam by hitting and kicking my daughter. Of course she hits and kicks back, and hard. Some of the guys and gals at the gym have a fight coming up in May. Will find out if tickets are available yet when we are training tonight.
Thunderstorms this weekend! Hope it is rain and not the white frozen stuff. |
better let her win one or two as she will probably pick your old folks home later.
