Aint that the truth.

It's important to get put in a place that cleans up your....uh...drool...Yeah, that's what we'll call it, drool, stinky drool.

Oh boy..Just 30 more minutes.

Have been doing triage for all the help desk calls and emails today.

It amazes me that some of these people can actually perform their job.

Surprisingly a lot like that English TV serial called IT Crowd. In that show they setup a tape machine that answers the phone, Hello IT. Then after the caller says anything it says "Have your tried turning it off and back on?"

flipper35 04-13-2018 02:34 PM

I hate getting calls from people that use the speaker phone so they can continue munching o the chips or carrots as they talk. I don't mind so much if I interrupt them, but when they initiate the call, put the chips down for two minutes and talk like a human. Sheesh.

On that note, have a great weekend!

RKDinOKC 04-13-2018 02:54 PM

Had one secretary at work that was always sucking on some kind of hard candy and clacking it on her false teeth. "Hello...slurp slurp clack" She couldn't say one entire sentence without pausing the slurp and/or clack that candy.

She was crazy with other stuff too. She would arrive 30 minutes to an hour before her shift and just sit in her car until 10 to 15 mintues after the shift started and walk into work late. Every day! She also carried a big cloth bag with books and papers in it. She kept it with her all the time and never put anything in or took anything out of it. Her job was all doing things on the computer and no paper involved. It got to be a challenge to catch her even looking at the contents. Nobody ever did.

She stopped coming to work. The rumor was she had a mental breakdown.

Weekend so has to be Good Morning!

Cold and WI N D Y !

Great day to rake leafs. Just kind up rake them up into the air and they end up piled in the corner of the yard. Natures Leaf Blower.

Happy Saturday, y’all. SmileWavy. I spent a good part of the day troubleshooting the inoperative turn signals on the Z. Chased it down to a corroded ground connection in one of the wiring harness connectors. After I cleaned that up and, voila, the turn signals work! The flasher unit was rusty, so I replaced that, too. For the next few weeks, cleaning connectors will be my life.

The winds are crazy. 25 to 45 mph. There was a pancake fly in at the Guthrie-Edmond airport. They said the turnout is pretty low. ;)

I would not want to be in any aircraft at all landing in this wind.
For sure, Texas is sucking hard and Kansas is blowing.

RKDinOKC 04-14-2018 08:49 AM

If wind like this was fairly steady it was fun to fly R/C planes in it.

Had my plane setup with flapperons.
The ailerons worked as both ailerons and flaps.
The flaps would go up as well as down making the aerofoil of the wing upside down.
With the flaps up negative lift would hold the plane on ground in the wind.

Got pretty good at dialing the flaps to make a normal looking landings when making a slow flyby going into the wind. Or even a Vertical or even flying backwards with respect to the ground landings. Flying backwards touch and go's were fun. Also used them a couple of times to nurse speed and altitude management to glide the plane back to the pilot station when the engine died at inopportune places.

I was one of the first one's at our flying field to start setting up my planes like this using the new computer radios. All the old farts made comments about how they were just more complicated with more stuff to go wrong. Then, a few months later, the same old farts were out there with their planes set up the same way with new computer radios telling everyone how much fun it was.

We had high winds a couple of days ago. I guess we shipped them off to you guys after we were finished with them. SmileWavy

pete3799 04-14-2018 11:58 AM

No wind here but this blows.
Trade you 3-5 inches of snow that's on the way for tonight/tomorrow. No?
How about some freezing rain?

Jim Richards 04-14-2018 12:33 PM

Thanks Pete, but I have no place to put it. ;)

Good luck with that weather!

RKDinOKC 04-15-2018 02:51 AM

Maybe yoiu can get someone in the northern hemisphere to trade for a day's weather in July or August?

GH85Carrera 04-15-2018 08:01 AM

The winds are better today, but still a windy day.

I need to change the oil on the Elky today. I will do that after we are done watching the F1 race.

GH85Carrera 04-15-2018 11:19 AM

Great F1 race, great to see such an unexpected winner. Great race and wonderful coverage.

Jim Richards 04-15-2018 03:23 PM

Installed side mirrors on the Z. The previous owner never replaced the driver’s side mirror after it was damaged, and the passenger’s side never had one. Now I can see what’s behind me while the Z is laid up in the garage during its renovation. :D

Still refinishing the garage queen’s wheels. The clear coat needs to be a little glossier.

Jim Richards 04-15-2018 03:43 PM

Hey Brent, I was just reading that Green Bay has had nearly 2 feet of the s-word from this latest storm. Isn’t it April? Time for rain showers. What’s going on up there?

RKDinOKC 04-15-2018 06:39 PM

Yeah, speaking of April showers, would certainly like to see some of those around here

GH85Carrera 04-15-2018 08:11 PM

I got the El Camino’s oil changed again today. It was a familiar routine after doing it over 100 times before.

RKDinOKC 04-15-2018 08:49 PM

Think it's about time ALL the fluids were changed on the turbo. Well, except for the washer fluid. Recently ran that dry and put another gallon in it. Every third time you hit the washers and the headlights are on it sprays them too. Not sure what good headlamp washers do without wipers though. I know on the windscreen it would just make a mess.
