Well, Took my PC into the office this Morning. Don't feel bad at all. It took two of the IT Techs and the other System Admin to get my user installed properly on this PC. Shesh, took them all three three hours. I got points for bringing donuts!
Asked if maybe I should put it in the back of the Cayenne, leave the hatch open and do a few quick laps around the block so they could just start over on another PC. They were about ready to go for that option, |
That matee smoking the cigarette looks like she thinks she is sitting on the poop deck.

Someone posted on the neighborhood forum that a bug salesman is going around spraying for bugs. Posted: No Thanks. Already have plenty of bugs.
I crack me up. |
Afternoon all. Been swamped with work, once again at the job site where internet is nil. I'll be getting the crappy weather back in a few days.
|
Speaking of crappy weather.......snow in the forecast.

My main computer is totally hogged out with the projects I am running. It is 12,646 high resolution images to churn through. Each image is 5,184x3456 pixels and saves as a 16 MB image in JPEG format.
The 32 gig of RAM is pegged ant 99% usage, the CPU is at 100% most of the time, the video card is churning, and the fans are blowing hard. It has run for 16 hours and is on step 2 of 15. This is gonna take a while. This is one where our 128 gig computer would be a better choice, but it is busy on other projects. I need more power! Arf Arf Arf. Pete, summer will arrive some day. We have actually had a few days of nice spring weather. I hpe we get more before summer gets in full force. |
Mertnin.
Doesn't the temps this time of year make snow more like white rain? |
Heard a rummble outside. Thought it might be more rain, but it's just trash day.
|
Good day all.
|
morning/afternoon all. Work is getting in the way of my fun here.

The Rolling Stones wrote about that in 1969. I have often thought of that song as my theme song. I don't always get what I want, but when I try sometimes I get what I need. In 1969 we lived in Hawaii. In 9th grade we lived in Waipahu, and I was 50% of the Haole (white) kids. Even Chuck Norris in the 9th grade could not whip a school of 9th and 10th graders, many of who were Samoan and HUGE. Every Friday was kill Haole day, and I got my hit, and chased and attacked by several kids. I rember one time running in a sprint all the way home, and jumping over the fence we had for the dog, and when they saw our Bulldog, they stopped chasing me. We finally moved on base and I got to go to a school that was pretty close to 50% white and the beatings stopped with the parity of population, so I got what I needed, safety in numbers. We still had to be able to run fast if we were in a small group and the locals were in a big group. I could outrun em all. |
Only had 4 or 5 bullies in our neighborhood. Lived on a block that the 4 lots for houses behind our house were vacant. The rest had houses so it was the vacant lot everyone played at. My Dad wouldn't allow anyone to bully or steal from anyone that played there. He would find out, forceably catch the kid and take him home to their parents. Understand that if the parents didn't take responsibility and act like the weren't going to punish the kid. he himself would punish them right then and there. Then tell the parents if it happened again he would punish not only the kid, but the parents as well.
Usually it was older pre-teens or just barely teens picking on younger kids. Thanks to my Dad the bully mentality did not last very long in our neighborhood. There was one kid that kept bullyiing that his dad challenged my dad. I do not know what happened, but Dad went to visit after the kid was caught bullying shorlly after that first visit and their house was vacant and for sale a week later. |
Fortunately it was just that one year in hell school. We lived in 11 different houses in my lifetime memory. My older brother and my parents had even more moves, and a few when I was in infant. In one neighborhood off base in Montgomery was a little rough. I think that was third grade for me, I would have to think about it more to be sure. I think the school name was Bellingrath. Anyway that was the school where the teacher had such a thick southern accent I could not understand her. We had just come back from Hawaii after out first assignment there. So I went from hearing pidgin English to very thick southern accent. It was hard to catch up. That is why I made a zero on my first spelling test where the teacher just called out the words. They called my parents and had a meeting and told them they thought I was retarded. My dad said Ma'am, I can hardly understand you myself, so I can imagine my son has no chance. They took home the list of words and mom gave me the test. I don't remember my exact score but it was a good passing grade. They assigned me to a different teacher.

I need more memory on my computer for this project!
The CPU has been mostly at 100% utilization, and the memory is usually at 99% utilization. The SSD hard-drive gets a few seconds of use and mostly waits for more data I guess. I has been running on this project since Monday afternoon, and it is only on step 3 or 15. This is gonna take a while. |
